January Transfer Thread 13:27 - Dec 23 with 26282 viewsKeithHaynes

Done some asking and Oli McBurnie is most certainly up for a loan back to the UK this window. I’ve been told four Championship clubs are interested. This will all fall on the fee’s involved plus he is on in the region of €36,000 a week. Big numbers but we know how these things can be negotiated.

Do we have the money ?
Yes.

P&S will need to be positive and only the club really know where we are with that at this moment in time, It won’t be massively healthy. Oli has played fourteen games for Las Palmas this season with no return. He has never been a prolific striker, but could he settle into Luke’s team ?

I can see Harry going IF the right club for him steps in, obviously Leeds would be. He surely can’t go to Bristol City, no reason to do so. Birmingham can pay him loads, but it’s a gamble on if they come up. But then that just makes him a championship player again.

If I were him I would wait for the big big signing on fee and make plans this month to sign in the summer for another club.Could make him for life.

Oli McBurnnie blocked from leaving Las Palmas.

Dropped from the squad.

Going to take a lot of money to get him away from his current club.

Let’s hope the new board learn from the folly of letting a players contract run down to its final year.

Andre Gray has left Plymouth as his short term contract has expired. Worth a punt?

There must be a reason for him leaving.

I would say he doesn't want to be playing for a relegation bound team and didn't re sign.

Or that he wasn't playing well and he's costing them too much.

Interesting to see that Plymouth and Oxford have broken their transfer records in this window already.
Showing that teams are prepared to spend even ones who are in a relegation scrap.

Plymouth signed Michael Baidoo which is a fantastic signing on paper.

3 goals in 13 appearances - and 2 of them goals in 1 match.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle are now both believed to admirers of the defender, with reports elsewhere suggesting a price tag of £750,000 has been put on Low's head.

It’s weird isn’t it, the Indy first had the news on the price tag, we put it on social media and everyone is now talking about it. 🙄

Preston have signed Lewis Gibson from Argyle for over a million so I can't see them spending big again.

Looks like we are going to lose Harry so I think signing Low is a must, I just hope we don't dally and lose him

So where does this leave us now?
Do we put in an offer for £1M
Do we nag Darling to sit down and make him a better offer
Do we know who our other CB targets are, surely we have others apart from Low though he first choice

Given the fact you're losing your best CB, he's young, keen, and playing well, I wouldn't have thought 1m would be too much to ask. Ok, he's untested at championship level, but if he's showing potential and looks ready to step up stop p/$$/£g about and get the deal done.

Could even have 4 months working with someone like Darling to gain from his experience before he's off on pastures new. It's called succession planning!!!

We should simply flog Darling and ensure Low replaces

We can't flog Darling unless he agrees to be sold.
He may well want to go on a free and pocket a bigger signing on fee.
