Doras was never rough imo , a great place , red drape curtains , sticky dance floor and lots of laughs |
I wouldn't say that. Even a mild mannered chap like myself did not escape being forced into fisticuffs at Doras, and I know one or two others who got set upon. Some of the bouncers were not adverse to getting stuck in as well, though I never had a problem with them. Then there was a different occasion when I swapped cars for a weekend with a friend, and had to explain why the side window of his MGB was smashed in while I was inside.
Re the Palace nightclub, there are some photos here - but I must confess the place was not on my regular circuit.

Thiecurrent incumbents are doing a lot of good work. It's just a shame previous councils screwed our city up so badly that fixing it is a very expensive job.

The Cape ,only visited when drunk with the intention of getting drunker, the last landlord was a guy called Alan? Who tried to turn the place around then bought by an Asian family now just a pile of rubble, sad really when you consider the history of the place and the reputation of the sailors which preceded them. | |

Morriston monkeys , a yarn or sailors taking strange creatures from their travels back to the area and asking the locals to hold the animal for a small donation towards their beer .
