NEW BLOG: Northampton Town v Blackpool - Northampton Pubs (and llamas)

It's the last away day of the season proper, so I head to Northampton dressed as a giant seagull. I go llama trekking, learn about Thomas A'Becket, rejoin CAMRA, watch volcanoes erupting, meet a micropubdog - and of course eat and drink beer aplenty. Oh and watch the match!

This blog also raises the question: if someone else's food was delivered to your table, would you eat it?

Well the match might have been a bit of a damp squib, but the pubs of Rochdale were quite impressive. Marzipan beer, banoffles (my new favourite made up word), irresistible sausage rolls - and octopus curry.

That early kick off threw my day right out of kilter...

I can't say that was an easy watch but what a win! I thought our attitude won us that one. We didn't get riled - and reacted to anger and histrionics with smiles, proferred hands and cuddles. And that's kind of beautiful.

Hi Everyone,

What have you made of England in the qualifiers? I guess they are doing enough - and I'm not seeing anything to be worried about. I actually can't believe I've watched us score seven in two matches and am still wanting more. I'd love for Blackpool to score that many ðŸ˜€.

NEW BLOG: Blackpool v Fleetwood Town & Poulton Pub Crawl

I'm building up to an epic train crawl when we're allowed back out, so I've been to Poulton on my virtual pub crawl this week. There's a cracking new bar that I can't wait to visit. What is your favourite pub in Poulton and why? Any quirks I've missed?

As for the match? Again disappointing but surely Larry not winning was the priority? That would have hurt a lot. It was pleasing to see us create more chances but we do need to be converting these into goals. Where are they going to come from, aside from Yates?

Milton Keynes surpassed all my expectations - even if the match itself did the opposite. A triceratops, a frog band, brewery goats, a windmill in a pub - and I finally caught up with one of the robots that deliver groceries. Can't wait to visit for real.
