De Guzman would be no good for us at the moment in time. He isn't a type of player you want in a relegation scrap for sure. He hardly made a tackle for us in his 2 years here.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, we need to get back to our passing basics, and JDG would be a good option to have in the squad for this.Certainly no worse than Ki.

No doubt you wouldn't be saying this if we were being linked with Jon Williams, Emyr Huws or Andy King...

So better than Ki then, something most of us knew anyway.

Oldjack is better than Ki at the moment Icy, Jd is having or has had a small op and won't be able to train for 10 days so that's probably a month before he plays, plus he hasn't played all season, so no pressure Jd and welcome and if you've got any rabbits in any hats fetch them with you, Ta.
If he does come he'll have my support like the rest, but hope it's just a starting point with one or two more to come in, namely a winger and a fecking pacy Striker, they do grow on trees though so easy peasey

I don't think there has ever been one person on PS who thought Canas was a better player than leon.

This is the bit that makes no sense to me - why spend good money now on a player that can't play for a month?

The only possible answer is that a loan now gives us the option to buy him cheap in the summer assuming we remain in the PL.

Still reckon the money would be better spent now on a striker - we can still go in for JDG in the summer if we want to.

Is the correct answer.
A few weeks until he gets fit. Even longer to get up to the level of fitness we and the PL require.
No.
Unless his wages/ majority of wages are being paid for us and there's no loan fee.

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

Given the nature of the surgery I'd expect him to be fit by the end of the month.

Everyone focusing on Gomis, but our midfield has woefully underperformed this season. I'm all for someone else in the mix there, especially now the ultimate wild card has gone.

Yes. Ish
I agree about the midfield.
They have at times, abused the words Slow, Lethargic, Languid, listless, dopey and a whole host of others, certainly for the last few games under GM.
JDG though? He hasn't played since about April last year.
Could be like having a brand new player.
Could take far too long to get upto the required fitness if that goes into April.
Depends on how much he wants to get back playing.

Wouldn't dream of arguing it wasn't a risky one. No idea what state he's in. However if he's even close to his 2013 form I'd have him back in a heartbeat. We've missed him and his ilk.

It's an opportunity for him to recuperate and integrate with the new manager and players.
So it's not totally wasted time. I would hope we don't start paying him until he's match fit anyway.
Last time I checked, the season runs until May.

It's just the internet, init.

I am getting a fed up with this Myth that it is all the midfields fault.
He has in 7 seasons NEVER had the service he requires, he has averaged just over 10 league goals per season, because he requires a lot more service than good Strikers who can Create their own chances.
His best ever league season was 2102/2013 when he managed 16 goals.
So he is half way through the season and is half way to his 10 goals.
The fault is his, not the Teams.
Or are you saying that he has never played with decent mid-fields in the last 7 years?
Pleas do not try and use Ayew as backup to the theory, Ayew is not and never has been a Striker, before coming to Swansea he has scored 45 goals in 9 Years, ie even less than Gomis.

Well considering some of the players are wanting them back I'd call that as incorrect.
