Amd yet teams need to know that once a press becomes too restrictive a well thought out long ball is needed amd at times quickl passing opens up defence no need to for fullback to get involved further up the park.

Our play out from the back this season has had a lot of variation. Yes we play it short, but are not afraid to play it long from Vigouroux with Cabango and Darling playing long balls at times also. Personally I think it is nothing like it was under Martin, hence our better defencive record and not giving away silly goals. |  | | |

Is it a case of if it works against some teams it must be the right thing to do, similar could be said of Cooper defensive set up but then it comes down to the how good are your players at doing what you're asking of them, how good is the team at exploiting their weaknesses and final how does a manager want his team to play so better teams cannot exploit those weaknesses by varying their teams play to suit the standard of the team their are up against. | | | |

If Russell Martin was capable of learning then he wouldn't be Russell Martin. Six years of management and he's still setting his defences up to fail.
As to why people keep bringing him up, considering he wasted two years of our time, resources and a pretty good squad on trying to make himself rather than us look good, then had the temerity to try and blame someone else for it even after he'd left, personally I intend to revel in his every professional failure from here on in.
