Swans players feel disrespected by their contract offers *Latest on 18:59 - Oct 28 with 4021 views | PawelAbbott | If this is to make the club look financially secure to potential investors, then they must be looking very short term. Losing 2 of your most valuable assets for free and then needing to make expensive investments to replace them, won't give the indication of a well run club.

Swans players feel disrespected by their contract offers *Latest on 19:13 - Oct 28 with 3957 views | SullutaCreturned | Indignant no, foolish... Do the maths, 8k per week for the 2 of them comes in at 2.4 million on a 3 year contract. We'd struggle to replace one of them for that price and then there'd be new contracts to be negotiated with the new players probably both demanding more than 8k. In short when these 2 leave on free transfers what we will get to replace them will be League 1 players. Not even top end L1 players either.

As we stand by, Levien isn’t playing ball. Not that he calls any of the shots at the club like.

He’s just part of a structure. He coaches the players delivered to him by the recruitment team of which I’m assuming he has input. Swans mantra of buy low sell high has hit a brick wall right now. The Americans I think are of the mindset of not offering a player a contract renewal until the last moment….and then expect him to feel grateful. I think our Center backs will have no trouble finding another club and maintain their wages. I’m not sure Cullen will leave not matter what they offer. Loyalty doesn’t pay.

Cabango and Darling have been tried and tested and passed with honors and yet they are being arsed about by clowns with no idea. No Thought, No Sense, No Ambition and nor will there be with Levien pulling the strings ask the DC Utd fans

Coleman says all the right things, he goes to matches with his kids so at a guess I'd say he wants better things for SCFC, but he's got no chance with Levien it could be that he Levien is firing the bullets and Kaplan is making them, he's the real money man afterall. As for Gude nobody knows what he actually does, what ever it is, its not working. [Post edited 28 Oct 20:05]

Players like Ashley Williams you mean? Stockport County. I actually agree with you that these two should be offered good money. Naughton Pederson Allen needs to be cut loose to cut costs and the like of Lissah Cooper Govea Watts promoted. I fear Darling will walk whatever Swansea offer.

The club was on a totally different trajectory when Ash Williams was signed, he was one of a number of players who came in and made a huge contribution for relatively small money. The club is a completely different beast these days, most of the signings these days fail live up to expectations and there’s no sign that improvements are on the way. The longer things drag on the more chance there is a player will take the lack of an offer of a new contract personally and once that happens and pride comes in to things there’s no way they’ll sign a new deal. As much as it hurts me to say this, if I were Cabango and Darling I’d be instructing my agent to put the feelers out and I’d be offski.

Football agents aren’t daft, I would bet my last euro that’s already underway. Agents talk to agents, some specialise in sourcing players others do both and represent their players interests. News travels fast in that world, every championship club and some in the premier league will already know two class defenders will be in the mix come January. Even if they are planning for a potential relegation back to the Championship by then. If they leave this won’t end well for Coleman or Levien. Unless of course Levien is playing what he preaches as a sports agent for many years. Hardball. Thing is this isn’t the USA.

The big US Sports are only popular in the States, so the market for players is limited. “Soccer” as the Americans refer to it is a global game and players can move on easily if they’re so inclined. If Levein is selling the shots, then Coleman may be stuck between the rock and a hard place.

And then of course there’s a potential split in the LLC in the USA. Say some of the members wanted out to reinvest with others ? Anyone who thinks that’s a straight forward routine of slicing up the cake and taking your share underestimates Jason Levien. He is shrewd, sharp and has years of experience in negotiation, be that stalling, pressing forwards and leaving everything watertight to protect his interests. I very much doubt there’s anyone connected to the majority shareholding with his cuteness and ruthlessness. Anyone unconvinced have a word with the trust at the time he came on board with others. I doubt they had a straight word from him in many of the meetings they had. And when they did he would then change his mind and say he misunderstood the information at the time and revoke anything he said beforehand. That’s what happens when you are top of the tree and have the say on all matters. Everywhere.

Are Cabango and Darling sell-able assets? If they are going to be given new contracts is there a chance that all the money paid in wages could be recovered in a juicy transfer fee in a year or two? I would say yes. I am pretty clear that the fee agents lists will be full of centre backs. Ex players like Connor Roberts at Burnley and Woodman at Preston are out of contract. The recruitment team will know League 1 and league 2 centre backs happy with £4000 a week. Ideally they would sell one in January and use the fee to part pay the other. I would love Connor to come back. Fans should not be afraid of wheeling and dealing as long as the recruitment team do not buy duds who never play.

Like Nathan TJ, Pedersen, etc. Pedersen is on a contract which is shockingly high. We can balance that with Tymon, Franco, Ronald, Vigouroux and Eom. Only one of those players came from the head coach. The only thing worth asking is if they believe on producing stars to sell on then why are Govea (especially) he’s fit and playing well. Parker, Nzingo, Wilson and numerous others aren’t even sitting on the bench. Let alone coming in for a late shot at winning a game, or scoring a goal. Nobody will convince me that Govea is any worse than Bianchini on the wing or Abdulai. He’s far better. It’s madness.

Swans players feel disrespected by their contract offers *Latest on 01:28 - Oct 29 with 3238 views | Robbie | Players wages at any level are a difficult find to check , online sites will speculate of course . If 10k per week is the going rate for good Championship players so be it , pay them that . Dalling and Cabango will run down their contracts and leave on a freebie to whoever . They as professional sportsmen will look for the best deal for themselves in their careers. Length of Contract will be added to the bigger picture . Potter got that wording right at Chelsea , 7 year contract and he is still living off it . Rodon , James , Piroe and Roberts all gone to better deals and proved assets to their clubs . Malcolm Struel alerted Tosh back in the very dark days , build a team to get to Division 1 . His ideas got us to the top table of football , glory days . Results , finances ownership and celebs spotted on camera in the crowd are the norm now. None of the new options brought in attacking wise have not impressed me so far either . A saleable asset in the last six months of a contract is only saleable if they are stupid enough to say they will go. Cabango and Darling already know what they can get at the end of the season, that's what agents are for. The club have pissed them off big time with low ball offers, they will do us no favours unless it suits them and leaving in January and giving up a signing on fee is not one of them. Full credit must be given to Williams and his team for keeping them focused and on top form during this time, but the thought of impressing other clubs also helps. The best central partnership in the league playing for a club with one of the tightest defences, clubs are queuing up.

It’s ok. We can replace them with centre backs from league one or two who would be grateful for £4000 a week

And we know where that will take us. We could get lucky with one or quite possibly not because our recruitment team now looks abroad and is hit and miss. But to try and replace two is insane.
