The situation changes very quickly. Not just week to week or even day to day. What's happening in Ukraine is having a major effect, not that you'd think that by some people's posts.
Our government needs to do more, they need to cut VAT and green levies on fuel to get the price down, that could help a lot to start with. people are giving up jobs because by the time they buy fuel their hardly making any money. There was a carer on the news recently who went back to working in a call centre because of the price of petrol and her high mileage job.
I would suggest it's the oil companies, retailers and petrol stations that are putting up the price as tax stays the same

It’s not all profit. Some stations will have bigger overheads or different deals with supply. Supermarkets can charge less because they want to drive people into their stores. There’s very little profit in fuel, would be surprised if it’s more than a few pence per litre.

But there's VAT on fuel too. So the more we pay at the pump the more tax we pay to the government.

I believe we are being ripped off, there are too many large companies and not enough competition. Prices are going up on a daily basis, but some of these garages only have weekly deliveries. Once the petrol is in their storage tanks I’d assume it’s paid for or they’ve had it on account and been invoiced - so why does it still go up? Be interested if anyone can answer!

Most large supermarkets have daily deliveries as was found by the fuel shortage earlier in the year when panic buying caused them to run out in days.
Smaller independent petrol station have weekly deliveries.

They have no right to invade a sovereign country and if Ukraine asks for help to stop RUSSIAN aggression they have a perfect legal right to ask. So far the weapons supplied have forced the RUSSIAN to retreat from Kyev with heavy loss of RUSSIAN lives.
If you are so concerned about loss of life why don't you ask your RUSSIAN friends yo leave Ukraine.

Before Russia annexed Crimea the ethnic make up of the Donbas was 30% Russian 60% Ukrainian and 10% other minorities. There have been shifts since then including 800,000 leaving and moving to Russia and other countries. The percentage of Russians is higher than it was in 2014 but not markedly so. I kind of agree that the supply of weapons is prolonging the illegal Russian invasion but what would be the situation if the "cowardly" west had not intervened?
