Lee Clark FIRED. Bucketti HIRED. bury PROMOTION PUSH back on track. 21:17 - Oct 29 with 35431 views | RAFCBLUE | Now, I'm not keen on bury but I have got to say I've some sympathy for Lee Clark. He comes in after Chairman Day fires Flitcroft and then goes on a recruitment spree of what I'll define as journeymen professionals supplemented by a gaming of the loan system. Now Clark has his faults but seems to have copped for Chairman Day arranging signings that he would not have wanted. I personally hope he wins at Woking next week and stays for a few more league games; the financial papering over the cracks is a timebomb that will explode eventually. He has a massive constructive dismissal claim coming if Day does decide to pull the trigger. [Post edited 23 Nov 2017 10:58]

Agreed Might form a decent partnership with their German left-back, Munchausen

Football runs in cycles. Clubs go through highs and low periods hence the emotional rollercoaster that comes with being a football fan. Bury and Rochdale are very very similar clubs that share the same issues in getting fans through the gate. Bury have a chairman who I wouldn't wish on any club, Rochdale have a stable chairman.. I would say that is the only difference between the two clubs. Will Rochdale find themselves back in the 4th division before too long? Possibly, almost certainly... will Rochdale always have the off field stability they currently enjoy? No I doubt that. I came here to browse mainly to see if Rochdale fans are still wheeling the narrative that Bury fans think the club is some sort of sleeping giant. This has never been true, and many posters I notice simply resort to making things up to suit said narrative. Look at the Bury messageboard for a more accurate depiction.

How representive of a fan base is one poster with a countdown clock, compared to say this messagebord and Rochdale fans? You'd do very well to find a dedicated Rochdale thread on the Bury forum, let alone a new one every week. I'd argue a few jibes between local rivals is fine regarding relegation, it's what makes a rivalry and is part and parcel of said rivalry. However wishing the demise of a club is something else, something that lacks class when you consider the people supporting the club are probably no different to yourself. Rochdale fans seem to excel in this. Bury may very well go down this season, we may even go to the wall. It's a real possibility. Alternatively, it's also possible we get a competent manager in who manages to mould a squad of individuals into a team and we end up in a respectable position. Given Rochdale's current league position of 20th, I dare say it not outside the realms of possibility that the Dale may end up relegated this season... admittedly I see this as an unlikely event given the experience of Keith Hill. Who knows what will happen? As I say mock us in May, not 17 games into the season.

We do have long memories. We remember that in the early 1990's a chap called Hugh Eaves used your club as his personal folly and stole the money of others to pay for the ride. That ride saw bury escape the fourth tier and then win the third tier championship - financial doping or in one word - cheating. When it all went wrong and Eaves' dark misappropriations of £20m were uncovered the financial doping had to stop and guess what, bury saw relegations and administrations - back to back - begging other clubs to help them and claim that they were really the victims. Failure followed on an off the pitch - different owners (Robinson, Fenton) and different administrations did not address the simple fact - living beyond your means comes at a cost and spending needs to be paid for. Fast forward to 2013, the late Neville Neville introduced a Messiah - a man who can turn it all around and restore bury to their former glories. Without this man the club would fold within 24 hours. It turns out that this new man isn't what he seems. Bills have not been paid, supporters unhappy. The turning of bury into a worldwide pop concert venue has not happened as planned. The ironically named supporters trust, Forever Bury, does not wish to question or challenge and has handed over control to this man with no due diligence and no financial reimbursement. The accounts to May 2016, deliberately filed late by the bury board in April this year show a £2.5m loss for the year and accumulated losses since formation of the club of £10.8m! £10.8m! These accounts are now 18 months out of date so in reality £10.8m is now going to be nearer £13-14m remembering that the tilt at Championship football has signed mercenaries pushed the operating costs of your club up That debt is secured on a ground that is dilapidated. A new ground is promised for the start of next season. As is Championship football. Going back to the post Eaves administration, the honorable thing to have done would have been to liquidate/go bust. Go back to the drawing board, as a club like Maidstone did and starting again. But no, local creditors and businesses were stiffed by the local football club. 10p in the pound impacting literally hundreds of local lives. So the way I see it is: * You've been living on borrowed time since Eaves. * You enjoyed the second tier briefly. * You now have to pay back for those debts. * If you can't pay you should fold. When you are relegated this year on sporting grounds, it will be a good thing. It will let you get back to your normal level. We might or might not join you in League 2 at the end of this season, we are punching above our weight but crucially paying our bills as we go. If you do go down this year, I hope you go down again next year and the year after that. Until you find a level that you can sustainably compete at. That might be level 6, or level 7 of the pyramid. Alongside teams like FC United, Guiseley, Salford City and the like. Like Stockport County you can learn the hardway. Pay your bills. If that sounds unsympathetic, then I'm sorry. I'm sorry that nature has not taken its course already and that you are still in the league despite the Eaves fallout. You should see that as a massive positive that you've survived nearly 20 years post the £4m of misappropriated Eaves money propelled you to a level you could not compete at, but like the dinosaurs you might be extinct soon. Responding to your comment: "I would refrain from mocking to the extent that Rochdale fans seem to do. There but for the grace of god, people have long memories... Rochdale could very well find themselves in a similar predicament one day. " God forbid we have a man who pumps £4m of someone elses money into our club and that we fritter it away in a way that means we don't keep any of it. For bury to operate sustainably you need to currently find around £13m. The one positive is that losing to sides like Woking will not be considered an upset. Best of luck - you're going to need it.

I don't think my comment was intended to elicit a timeline of events since 1995, none of which concern Rochdale AFC. Again you comment on the financial side and how poor and immoral it is, as if I myself, or other Bury fans, have put the club in such a position. Like I say fans do have long memories, god forbid Dale ever find themselves in a similar predicament, which the way football is going these days is a real possibility. Lower league clubs are struggling in the modern football climate, naturally those near to bigger clubs such as Bury and Rochdale struggle more than say Carlsile or Plymouth. Words said in 2017 could come back to haunt you in 2027 perhaps. RAFCBLUE, I shall remember the username, just in case. [Post edited 15 Nov 2017 23:27]

In other words, you'll do exactly the same thing as you're accusing us of doing? Get a grip man. For many of us, it's not about delighting in the struggles of our next door neighbour, it's simply acknowledging that shafting other people out of money and in some cases, livelihoods when businesses are forced to close through not being paid for work done deserves to be called out. It's not sport, it's more serious than that, and you should be ashamed of yourself for failing to acknowledge the same.

And what do any of your half-arsed excuses for the 20 years of financial carnage at bury and consequent unsubstantiated speculation that " Rochdale could very well find themselves in a similar predicament one day. " have to do with reality?? We could get beaten at Slough, and have an FA cup campaign that pockets the club £100k, We have £1m coming this season (plus more) from the Scott Hogan deal. We have no debts, own the ground outright without documents giving the chur first dibs on the ground and land if the club goes tits up. Our directors are well known amongst the fanbase as long serving Dale fans. We'll be fine. There you go, talk about Dale on a Dale forum. bury won't be fine according to the fans on their forum that have actually woken up and smelt the coffee. Compare and contrast.

Can you point me in the direction of where I’ve ‘wished the demise of one club’? Can you explain what a large group of Bury fans chanting “You’re just a town full of paedos” everytime we meet has to do with football, Rochdale AFC and its supporters? Or is that just ‘banter and jibes regarding relegation’? The irony of a Bury fan posting on a Rochdale messageboard, commenting on Rochdale fans posting about Bury, is brilliant.

Well said. There seems to be a void that starts halfway down Bury Road where the concept of paying someone in full and on time for work that they have done is changed into part payment on a significantly delayed basis. Equally on our side of the divide you are brought up to live within your means where down there living it up for four years on embezzled money is lauded as the pinnacle of achievement. They just don't get it! If I were to contrast how different the clubs are I'd simply used the retained earnings number in the accounts to 31 May 2016. Our company shows reserves of £0.8m vs a bury deficit of £10.8m - an £11m difference in how we've run ourselves over many years of "history". We can play at whatever level we find ourselves at, but the crucial thing is that we budget, live within that budget and pay our bills. I'm very proud to follow a club that believe that and to have other fans who believe the same. I don't think we are capable of shafting anyone; its against our DNA. The credit for this has to go to our stewards over the last 30 years mainly Kilpatrick, Morris, Dunphy, Kelly alongside many others. The next generation have hard acts to follow. No one yet has bet the house on a temporary shot at glory and long, long may that continue!

You should see that as a massive positive that you've survived nearly 20 years post the £4m of misappropriated Eaves money propelled you to a level you could not compete at, but like the dinosaurs you might be extinct soon. an absolute stonking post.... RAFCBLUE thanks for summing up perfectly all that is wrong at our dear neighbours. what a read - what a shower they really are. closing in on £14 million in debt and yet still chase a dream beyond means. Lets see this shiny new stadium in July 2018 as was promised. in response to 1885 just look at Beardy and the masses still refusing to out the milky bar kid for what he is. Warbster did the best job I have seen with an OP trying to do just this and was shot down in flames. wake up and smell the coffee man and start to have some humility!!! admit your a shambles of a club trying to build a skyscraper on bungalow foundations!.
Lee Clark FIRED. Woking WIN. bury in CRISIS. on 10:00 - Nov 16 with 2295 views | RAFCBLUE | At the risk of being even more cutting to our friends down the road, if you judge the financial tenure of Mr Day as bury Chairman to date it reads something like this: * Day appointed statutory director on 25th July 2013, first season in charge was 2013/14. * The May 2013 accounts, prior to any involvement from Mr Day show accumlated losses of £3.9m. These losses are due to previous regimes and nothing whatsoever to do with him or his running of bury fc. * The May 2014 accounts, which do reflect the first year of Mr Day's chairmanship show accumuldated losses of £5.5m. A 2013/14 season loss of £1.6m * The May 2015 accounts, which reflect the second year of Mr Day's chairmanship show accumulated losses of £8.4m. A 2014/15 season loss of £2.9m. * The May 2016 accounts, which reflect the third year of Mr Day's chairmanship show accumulated losses of £10.8m. A 2015/16 season loss of £2.4m * The May 2017 accounts, which reflect the fourth year of Mr Day's chairmanship are legally due to be filed in February 2018. So, to the end of the 2015/16 season the accumulated loss moved from £3.9m to £10.8m. The movement of the accumulated loss is £6.9m can be completely attributed to Day's tenure plus the 2016/17 season in League 1 which is to be disclosed. That £6.9m figure will increase to near £10m I'm sure. That £6.9m loss over three years has delivered the team that bury fans now deride and is bottom of League 1. If you think about it, the £3.9m starting point is essentially the Hugh Eaves legacy played out via the various administrations. What has happened since, when unpicked, will lead to some serious ramifications which I think are: 1) Administration 2) Relegation from League 1 3) Relegation into the non-league 4) A deal done with creditors around the sale of Gigg Lane to pay debts 5) Houses on Gigg Lane It might take time but you can only hold off the inevitable for so long. Lee Clark FIRED. Woking WIN. bury in CRISIS. on 14:03 - Nov 16 with 2052 views | TTNYear | And that’s the only surprise in all this, in that it’s taken so long. We were telling bury fans when Fatty McFat Face took over that all wasn’t as it seemed. But no ‘what could we do’, ‘enjoy the ride’ was the main rhetoric coming from the fans, in between the few detractors who must have some Dale DNA in them. Because the majority were just creaming themselves at the thought of Vaughn, Clarke, Beckford, Dawson ... even Tutte... I’m sure there’s more and better examples but I’m stifling a laugh with the last one, with little consequence to the long term future. Only when they have reached rock bottom with a set of over paid mercenaries and all seems hopeless do they finally start turning on Day. But a few golden words in a press release that Dunphy wouldn’t even have the balls to even think of releasing, and he’s the bees knees again. Remarkable. 1885 or whatever... we may join you on the slippery slope to the bottom division. But despite all the sh1te you throw at us 2 FA cup wins, playing in the championship, playing City, pedos, a ground with joined up sides... even your town has a PC world, if we do go down we will cut our cloth accordingly and carry on. Youve run out of cloth to cut. Is that the fans fault? ultimately yes, because you’ve prostituted your club to the first saviour without checking whether he’s worth the risk because someone said they would be chaining the gates if you didn’t. Day is full of bull and even on his last release could help lying. His claim that they’ve lost out on revenue if they’d got through because they’d have been ear marked for tv in the next round is an out and out lie. The tv schedule had already been decided. But you can add that to the long list of lies that the man has peddled. No sympathy for this side of Heywood because we warned you, but your fans were too busy bathing in gold... unfortunately it was for fools.
