Joel Piroe rejects new Swansea contract and is ready to sign for Leeds Thursday, 24th Aug 2023 14:03 by Swansea Independent Leeds United have gatecrashed Southampton’s plans to swoop for Joel Piroe and have satisfied the Swansea City hierarchy with a bid for the player. Despite the main decision makers at the club all being out of the country this week, which led us to beleive any deals would be put on hold it seems Paul Watson has managed this latest piece of Swans business. It has to be said with the news of Paul Watson being the sole man at the helm this week we genuinely felt that any deals would be placed on hold. However, the caveat being any club wanting the likes of Piroe would have to meet the exact valuation placed on him by Swansea. It seems Leeds United have done that with no figures available at the moment. Joel rejected a vastly improved contract offer on Tuesday as we reported earlier in the week on Sunday. That news is here —> Piroe contract offer The only way any club was to be successful in signing Piroe in the absence of key decision makers at the Swans was for an offer to be made that was acceptable to the club. That has happened so we can expect good news on the fee surely ? It’s certainly enough for Piroe to have been released from training this morning to travel to Leeds United for an extensive medical. Paul Watson having been left at the helm of the club this week has most certainly been the key mover in this latest action. What will ensure a sale this week ? That’s here —> Valuations have to be met It’s pretty obvious now the Swans will be reliant ( as it stands ) on new signings Mykola and Jerry Yates for goals in the immediate future as the transfer window once again scuppers everyone’s thoughts and throws up many surprises. More on this as we get it. Photographs licensed from Reuters Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
