Think I wrote after the Brentwood game that Rs rarely seem able to adapt if the opposition change shape or up their game in the second half. Too often a good first half is followed by a disappointing second 45. Occasionally the pattern is reversed (Watford) but the chances of getting two good halves from the team seem remote.

There could be a number of reasons: our team isn't that good and after 45 minutes the opposition know what to do to beat us, the half time team talk from Warbs & Co isn't good enough, we have too many players who can't manage a full-on 90 minutes because of age (Cameron), they're building up fitness (Willock) or still carrying the after effects of long term injury (Carroll). Or perhaps the team is still gelling - a tricky mix of lower league experience, promising players who haven't quite made it and our home-grown youth - so we should only expect limited spells of good football.

But I do think there are promising signs and somewhere a good and consistent football team could yet emerge. Fingers crossed it might be soon, for example, when 2,000 of us are actually in the KPF Stadium!

The Adomah thing is a problem caused by the switch to nine on the bench. Our site is only recognising the first seven. Fix in the works.
