Absolute horror of a disease , my much loved Brother in Law suffered for a few years before succumbing to it , it was painful for all concerned and the fallout continues RIP Paul still missed by all

Don't know much about the condition but isn't it mostly men that get it I've never heard of a woman getting it

Very strange how it works

It’s a terrible illness. My mother in law worked for NHS delivering palliative care support in the community, in her opinion motor neurone disease was the worst illness she had to deal with. I don’t know if it’s because my beliefs are being influenced by media articles, but looking at things as a lay person it seems a large number of those developing the condition are high in performing sports people, Lenny Johnrose, Joost Van Der Westhuizen, Rob Burrow, Doddie Weir and now Jason Bowen. One of my fathers mates who played rugby for Aberavon back in the 70’s also developed the condition. It begs the question is it exercise, collisions/ head injuries or maybe chemicals in the ground (pitch markings/ fertilisers etc).
