The New Punch Brothers album came out a few weeks ago. Progressive Bluegrass may be a bit of a weird concept but I absolutely love this band and the new offering is a serious delight.
Rather than start a new thread; any fans of new music should take a look at the Bandcamp site https://bandcamp.com/ they really seem committed to supporting the artists too and the music is avail able to buy if you so wish. It is free to sign up to.
Just listened to The Overload by Yard Act - good stuff and still has legs at the end (which is always a good sign I think).
I'm liking a lot of this post-Brexit post-punk (shit label!) - Yard Act, Squid, Dry Cleaning etc. Have tickets for Fontaines, Squid, Sleaford Mods in Vancouver over the next few months.
Big thief are effing brilliant and they are playing Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 5th March straight after our match against Cardiff. Couple of mates and me are going. If you want a great old day then that’s it
The Bug Club - rocking like moldy peaches crossed with Jonathan Richman Wet Leg - only 4 songs out but mega attitude Cool Greenhouse - Mark e smith with a decent band

Saw Wet Leg supporting Idles - one decent song but otherwise a bit meh for me.
You get to the stage where everything new sounds like whatever came before. There is nothing new under the sun.

Love 'Big Thief'.
Very jealous.

I’ve just got into them the last year or so. Might have to go to that gig.
I’m going to see Cate Le Bon in Hackney in March too. She seems to have been around for ages but somehow passed me by. I keep coming across old tracks of hers now really good!

Yes I am a grumpy fcker.
Wet Leg...it's fine, if I'm feeling generous? It's entirely possible I'm just reacting to the nasally nerd DJs on Sirius XMU, who are absolutely breathless as they race to name-drop Wet Leg on their shows. Calm down, Jenny Eliscu.
I'll save the breathless praise for Beach House...

That's gorgeous. Up there with their best stuff.
Thanks Lars.
