Warnock Quote Required on 08:20 - May 13 by Northernr
"It's just what we needed if I'm honest"
Said after a variety of wins, draws, defeats and pre-season hammerings at Luton Town.
The first time I ever noticed the phrase "if I'm honest" instead of the more traditional "if I'm being honest" was from Warnock. Now it's commonplace in footy.
I think he could copyright it.
"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
That would be a great T-shirt, the man is a living legend.
Cards on the table, I hadn't seen this quote until I had a rummage on the interweb, but it's wicked, if way too long:
Asked what he would do if given the Wednesday job, he replied: 'As long as the whole of my massive salary was paid within 28 days, then I would buy so many tosspots - although, come to think of it, their current squad would do - and fukk 'em up so badly. Then I'd retire to Cornwall and spend the rest of my life laughing my fukking head off.'
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
In a fiery League Cup semi-final against Liverpool, Warnock made many enemies, with Stephane Henchoz caught up in an alleged spitting incident.
He revealed in his autobiography that he shouted at Liverpool assistant Phil Thompson, saying: “You can f*ck off Pinocchio, get back in your f*cking cupboard.”
Talking about his old adversaries and current Cardiff rivals Bristol City, Warnock revealed he wants something quite different to a minute’s silence when he passes away.
“I joke with their fans that, when I do pass away, I hope they all have a minute’s applause for me at Ashton Gate and remember the good times I’ve given them,” he said.
“I don’t want silence. I want them all to be chanting ‘Warnock’s a w*nker’ over and over again. For a whole minute. That would be my ideal.”

I had a quick look at his book. How about this? It's what Neil said he told Joey and Anton after the final whistle.
Premier League, Sunday 23rd October 2011: QPR 1 Chelsea 0 Neil Warnock: “Just take in the atmosphere, I’ve never heard anything like it”.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
