Poll: Greatest Ever Dale Game

Whether it was a red or not, no way Lillis would have made that decision to come out, was unnecessary. We've had most of the play but they've had the best chances. No quality in final third and pedestrian, shambolic play at the back. Lucky to be 0-0 IMO. Might play better with ten. Need Calvin and Cannon on in 2nd half.

Thatā€™s what I thought, but, at the same time, it didnā€™t look a dangerous challenge either.

It wasn't dangerous. Had it been McGahey or McNulty who clattered him, would've been a yellow at worst. Could be a long second half now.

Did Norman call for it, or was he just forced to try and deal with it because a long punt forward was going to drop to Payne unopposed?

Both CBs were on the scene, didn't need to come out at all. He might be able to do the odd fancy bit of distribution but he's cost us two goals now this season.

Edit - tonight wasn't a goal but you know what I mean. The goal conceded v Walsall was from his supposed strength when he just passed it straight to one of them. We're not Man City and this is League 1.

Very impressive, Raf needs to take a leaf out of his book

Are you for real ? Raff has done well so far, tonight. What"s your problem with him ?

Just seen a replay of the red card and Norman absolutely flattens the Rovers player - I'm guessing he's gone for dangerous play.

Can't agree with us looking good going forward. Apart from the odd shot from 20 yards what have we created?

They've had the best 2 chances of the match.

Theyā€™ve had the best two chances because of our defence.

Our approach play has been much better than theirs and, unlike Saturday, we do actually look like we could score. Until the red card, I wasnā€™t worried about not getting anything from this game.

Not sure now, however, with the man disadvantage.

Precisely, thatā€™s why Iā€™m a little stumped as to why it was deemed a red. Iā€™ve rewound the incident, it was neither a last-man or dangerous offence. It was bloody stupid, but was not warranting a red card.

Would need to see it again from a few angles, mind you, to see if Iā€™ve missed something.

He must have, as it undeniably isnā€™t a last-man effort.

To me it looked like the ball travelled 70 yards in the air and dropped between the two centre halves and if Norman hadn't done summat Payne would've been in on goal. Happy to proved wrong though. Jim had a mare all game trying to deal with Payne.

We may not have a case if the ref has decided it was dangerous play. Need to see it again.

We played well and deserved the point, under the circumstances, but it will be looked back on as a case of what couldā€™ve been.

Not really. Played well with Henderson excellent. Rovers were poor and weā€™ll be disappointed not to have won.

It would seem Norman was picked because he can kick the ball harder and further than Lillis. Shame he cannot judge those long balls as well as Lillis. Nonsense decision by the officials. Not last man. Not a clear goal scoring opportunity. Clearly a foul but in midfield itā€™s a nothing, a defender does that same challenge outside the area itā€™s a yellow. A goalkeeper isnā€™t treated any different to a defender in that situation. Hopefully we donā€™t appeal.

Decent second half. What could have been with 11 men on the pitch. LOL at the official match sponsors giving Josh Lillis MotM.
