Steven Caulker 23:31 - Sep 23 with 4679 views | PunteR | This lad should be a legend at QPR. All the talk about bringing local youth players through, means nothing when we have a local lad who has played at a top level, still not being recognized as a good player. This lad should be the first name on the team sheet. Sorry Onouha

Steven Caulker on 23:35 - Sep 23 with 3563 views | Northernr | Not playing well though is he? Not played well since he got here? And I was a massive fan when we signed him and still think he could be decent. But he's hardly tearing up trees is he?
Steven Caulker on 23:45 - Sep 23 with 3528 views | eghamranger | Think he has done well this season. He isn't a PL player and think he wrote off last season and is knuckling down this season. Like to see Him and Lynch there. Think Hall is decent but not as good as everyone on here goes on about. Bidwell hasn't done all that this season either at the mo.

I'd certainly have Lynch in there whenever possible - we lack a centre back who sticks his head on the ball, which is what he was bought for.

He's not tearing up trees ,but neither is anyone. He is though, a better option than Onouha at CB and more vocal. He's obviously not the answer to all our problems but i do think he's been under estimated.

So was my uncle Richard.. And he wasn't any good at football.. Caulker will never be a legend at the R's or anywhere else. Lazy player who has next to no concentration. Don't believe the hype... Lynch and hall for me at centre halves.. I wouldn't entertain "chief" in the starting 11.

Totally agree, with a caveat regarding your Uncle Richard. I've had Hall/Lynch as my preferred central pairing all season. Lynch really impressed me when he came on against Watford, he is far more solid and reliable than Caulker. I hoped that Onuoha would move on in the summer or his own sake enabling us to invest in a genuine right back. Swapping him between full back and centre half does him (and us) no good at all. I think he would enjoy a new lease of life elsewhere, but will continue to struggle here.
Steven Caulker on 08:49 - Sep 24 with 3165 views | MedwayR | I think Lynch has to play so then it's one of Hall or Caulker, I'd say Caulker is probably the better player but Hall has earned the right to be ahead of Caulker. I thought Hall & Caulker could work as a partnership but I think they're probably too similar. I'd also drop Onouha who's not the answer at RB & give Perch another chance to prove himself, if he fails then it's back to Onouha at RB until we can sign a decent RB or give Furlong a go.

Steven Caulker on 08:50 - Sep 24 with 3163 views | actonman | Needs to step up to the plate and show some leadership skills. Looks more like the rest of them just hiding when things go wrong in a "that wasn't my fault" kind of way. We have always had leaders from the back , onouha ain't one but caulker could be but I don't think he's interested tbh
Steven Caulker on 09:26 - Sep 24 with 3089 views | RBlock | It's got to be Hall and Lynch IMO. You need Lynch to get his head on things, and solidify us at the back. I think Hall has not only been a better defender than Caulker this season, but also a lot better playing out of the back, with some fantastic forward passes.
Steven Caulker on 09:33 - Sep 24 with 3071 views | Lblock | You'll never be a legend at this club when you're a Bentford fan as are all your family and you put in displays where you quite obviously don't give a fcuk on £60k a week I thought it was a massive coup when we signed him. He should be an England regular Was the stand out player at Cardiv when in the Prem But then there's bars, casinos and rap concerts to attend and so little time for anything else What a waste

Steven Caulker on 09:54 - Sep 24 with 3027 views | rsonist | Deeply odd thread. Whiff of a couple of shandies too many, appropriate for the topic I suppose. Club legend because he happens to have been born in our territory, but never had anything to do with us until we spent 8 million quid that he's never looked like justifying. Lol at "has played at a top level", not for us, not particularly for anyone else, one dodgy England cap. Hope he signs the poster on your bedroom wall someday. Agree that Hall and Lynch should be the plan. (Still don't quite understand the interest in Alfie Mawson should Caulker have left).

Your right about one thing. Not sure its a deeply odd thread though. Caulker signed for us when we were throwing money about like confetti but he has loads of potential. I just feel he was written off too early. Tbf Hall was our most consistent player last season and probably deserves his place. Not seen enough of Lynch yet but looked good on Wednesday.

It might be a bit difficult for Perch at the moment as he has only one good leg and even more difficult for Furlong as he is contracted to Swindon. Lol!

He was written off because when he wasn't on the pitch playing abysmally he was in a pub somewhere and fighting people. Looked good for a couple of games this season and since the transfer window closed has seemingly reverted back to his regular self. Hall and Lynch for me if only for I don't get think either is a complete clunge.

Unusual for this board I know but I was thinking longer term, beyond the next game. I'm fairly certain Furlong can be recalled in January which leaves plenty of time for Perch to have a run of games, assuming his injury isn't serious - have we actually had any news on that yet?

Steven Caulker on 11:14 - Sep 24 with 2891 views | rsonist | Doesn't seem much of a case. If this thread was posted beginning of the season then I'd have agreed that he still has potential and we should give him a fair shake (not least because the club are stuck with him and don't have too much choice in the matter). Since then the new improved renaissance man Caulker looked good then reverted to old ways and the potential is being squandered again. He's not a boo boy pariah like Henry, everyone's putting up with it, so what's your point? All the rest of it about local lad legend deserving first name on the team sheet recognition is tripe.

Steven Caulker on 11:30 - Sep 24 with 2854 views | Dorse | There is a great player in there somewhere. He is expensive but QPR will get more of a tune out him than we ever got from Traore or, dare I say, Sandro. Ned is in some sort of existential funk, Hall and Lynch may work as a partnership but Lynch and Caulker might be even better. A back four of Kakay, Lynch, Caulker and Bidwell with three from Cousins, Luongo and Borysiuk in front would be pretty decent. Lynch has got the organisational chops and looks as though he'd win more than his fair share of aerial balls, Caulker has that bit of nous to read the game and take up good positions to cut down the space available. I'm not saying Hall couldn't do that too (Lord knows, he did it enough last season!) but Caulker could be the right fit. I doubt Caulker will be a QPR legend. However, he could be a very good player that steadies the ship for the next 4 months or so and could be replaced for less than we make on him in January.

Nah, your missing my point. (I know I'm not very clear) Call it tripe if you like, but my op was more a rhetorical question . This lad has all the makings to be a top QPR player, yes its in his hands to a degree but I guess I'm wondering if he should be made captain and put more emphasis on him leading the team as he did with Cardiff rather than Onouha. I'm not saying he's a boo boy but as Watford clearly illustrated, Caulkers reputation goes before him. I was questioning why he's still not fulfilling his potential at QPR. I just posted about a QPR player for the purpose of a thread about a QPR player, not very imaginative I know, feel free to have a dig at me about it though. [Post edited 24 Sep 2016 12:04]

He spent all of last season scrabbling around for anywhere else to play and now he's out of takers you want to give him the armband to gee him on? People have been blowing air up his backside all his career to no avail and you're giving it the poor underappreciated lamb routine. If he wants to become a good player, a leader of the squad, he can knuckle down and earn it. He has very much been given all the opportunity he needs here. Also Caulker and Onuoha haven't even been in competition for the same place this season so I dunno why you're harping on about Ned.
