Just thought i'd share an observation that I think will improve the team whilst Sandro is crocked. Let's hope that we can get him fit where Tottenham failed.
Barton just has to be dropped. Great engine, gets in decisive blocks, plays a simple ball well but is completely unwilling to accept the limits of his game. Karl Henry with a HUGE ego. Time and again gives possession away trying things he can't do, whether it's a raking pass or sliding one through the middle it inevitably falls straight to the opposition. If he knew his limitations he'd be great but he doesn't and I suspect never will, it'll be the same in whatever career he chooses after football.
Neither Fer nor Kranjcar can fulfil the role we need from that position, which is effectively a defensive one.
Ned can't really pass, doesn't look at all natural going forward but has the odd foray in him. Physically there aren't many midfielders that can match him. Plus with him and Henry together in there it'll allow Yun and Isla to be the attacking full backs that they naturally are. He can tackle, knows his limitations and has the character to dominate that position and will naturally cover Isla when he rampages forward with his mate Eduardo. Charlie will love it and you could perhaps even get away with throwing Adel in for the odd 'bonus' game in an attempt to please all of the people some of the time.
For as long as Dunne is playing and we don't need him at CB i'd move him forward, he'll apply himself well and could turn out to be our Viera.
I'm genuinely all in favour of novel solutions to our mess away from home, but if the main problem with Joey is giving the ball away I don't see how Ned can be the solution to that. He's constantly giving it away on the right so from a DM position it would shirley be even worse?
Watching on tv I thought about half of Joey's errors were his own fault and the half was a lack of movement and options around him. Swansea were great at closing down and we just didn't look well enough drilled to offer an 'out' ball.
He's uncomfortable enough receiving the ball at right back with pressure from an opposing winger, imagine him receiving the ball facing his own goal under pressure from multiple midfielders. I just don't think he has the subtlety to his game to play that role.
I like Onuoha, but he should be cover for right-back and centreback. He's certainly not a midfielder.
I'd prefer to see Mutch or Fer get a run of games in central midfield. I feel they have a lot more to offer.
Why have we always got to do the "make do and mend" tactic?Admit there's a fukkup and get in some specialist help in January.Marcelo Diaz, another Chilean fits the bill nicely,I'm sure Basel would be open to a loan bid.

I also like the thinking behind this. Barton is a *massive* weak point for us. Constantly giving the ball away to the oppo at a rate of knots will never help in our cause. However, there is no way the Chief could do a job at DM/CM, more's the pity. Could try Isla in there (can't he apparently play CM?) and Onuoha at RB again, but even there he was giving the ball away like a priest at a church raffle.

Punk, just go out and get your "Anyone but Barton" T shirt printed.
