RIP Kevin Jenkinson 19:45 - Apr 14 with 6970 views

It is with deep regret that I notify this forum of the death of Kevin Jenkinson. Kevin will be known mainly I guess to the older members of this forum. Due to health problems he has not been able to attend Dale for a number of years. Those who stand in the Sandy Lane probably may know his wife Bernice and son Carl who can be found at home games stood at the Sandy Lane near to the main stand corner flag. I worked closely with Kevin on the old Supporters Club Committee where he arranged some truly superb Christmas Dinners for us. Kevin was also head gateman on the Wilbutts Lane side until his health dictated otherwise. The family until the last few years were regular home and away fans never missing a game. Kevin you will be greatly missed and I have many fond memories of the times we had together. My deepest sympathies go to Bernice and Carl.

RIP Kevin. One of the few who stuck with it in the 70's and 80's ensuring we survived. Without the few hundred like him, back then, the club would have folded.

RIP Kevin. I had a lot of time for Kevin and his family, great people. I used to see him every Tuesday and Friday at the clinic I go to and always had a chat about the Dale even though he couldn't go any more. Thoughts with Bernice and Carl.

As the OP says, Kevin was, (along with Bernice & Carl) a stalwart supporter in some of the less successful days of the clubs' history. That said, he was tireless in his efforts on behalf of the club and the family travelled the length and breadth of the country following Dale. He was Dale to the core and was proud to be a Dale fan.

I have some great memories of Kevin and there were many, many laughs along the way.

RIP Kevin and sincere condolences to Bernice and Carl for whom life will never be the same.
