QPR Make Offer for Chelsea Defender New QPR manager Mark Hughes is understood to be interested in signing out-of-favour Chelsea defender Alex, with Sky Sports reporting that an official offer has been made. The Brazilian has not been part of the Chelsea squad since handing in a transfer request as Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas has isolated him from the rest of the squad, despite the club struggling in defence. Alex has been forced to train with the reserves and with Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill due to sign for Chelsea in the coming days, his time at the club is certainly coming to an end. QPR originally contacted their fellow west London club when Neil Warnock was still at the club as they checked on the availability of the vastly experienced defender. Since then, Mark Hughes has been handed the reigns and it seems the former Fulham manager is still keen for a deal to be thrashed out before the transfer window closes. QPR owner Tony Fernandes made it clear that there would be money to spend in January and that he was even hopeful of bringing someone to the club before the weekend's match against Newcastle WOULD BE A GREAT SIGNING |
