| News Comment | Cost-cutting continues as Leeds lose winding-up case at 07:07:16
Not sure that it is all cost cutting in that way. It is a complete root and branch restructure to make it more economicsl. A play on words may be, but Celion knows what he wants and what he doesn't want and what we can afford. The gFH years have caused us compounded problems and Celino is having to rectify previous error in judgement at every level. I just look at this as sorting the club out. Best of luck to the ex players though. They are truly legends! |
| News Comment | McCormack staying but Massimo selling? at 08:40:14
Good article. Someone will write a book about Cellino one day do on! In my view he is a straightforward guy in that he has plans snd aspirations snd he will work relentlessly towards them. He is very smart though, a master in psychology and brinkmanship. Such an interesting and colourful character. Leeds fans are going to have bags of fun with him in charge. He has already wrong footed the Magpies and got them bleating. People need to understand him though. He is out to win in everything he does. Particularly in deal making. He is not silly with money snd he won't be silly with the club's finances. He gets his buzz through successful deals, and that will include buying players. Let's be fair about this - there won't be any manager making deals foe Leeds and spending his money! That is what he does. The situation with Ross is hilarious if you think about it and Cellino will be sat chuckling to himself. Shrewd! |
| News Comment | Cellino’s sale of Cagliari falls through at 16:10:11
Cellino has always said the sale is not related to the plan for Leeds. More concerned about Hsigh in prison, winding up and the sale of Ross. No manager, Thorpe Arch closed and no players coming in. Don't think anything will happen until the winding up petition is dealt with on Monday! If it wasn't for bad luck, if it wasn't for real bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all! |
| News Comment | No great surprise as McDermott leaves Leeds again at 10:26:24
Rhetorically, how much more uncertainty can the Leeds fans actually take. This is all very worrying. Next season, new owner, new manager, new team. That is hell of a lot of change in one go! Uncertain times! |
| News Comment | No great surprise as McDermott leaves Leeds again at 10:11:44
BM took the most difficult job in football. All of his efforts were frustrated bt circumstances, finance and very poor directorship by the board. Brian Mc Dermott truly is a gentleman and it is only through his sterling efforts that we were ever in contention. He kept the ship steady throughout the most terrible storms and kept us in the Championship. We should be truly grateful to Brian as his effort has been selfless. I still believe that he is going to be a great loss to us. OK, everything is changing, hopefully it will be for the better in time, but Brian has been our onlyl anchor and the ONE person who we could trust. A very good guy. Who was it that said life just isn't fair? |
| News Comment | Haigh's detention unlinked to Cellino or take-over at 19:26:56
The wording from GFH has been very carefully chosen! Not related to the sale, but related to the running?? If the jurisdiction for the alleged offences is UK and Saudi, why trick Haigh to return there? Suppose he could have his hans cut off? Too much speculation and not enough evidence. Over to the Foreign Office to sort this out. GFH out NOW!, |
| News Comment | Leeds seek another striker as takeover drags on into March at 18:43:32
They don't seem to have asked for more information they have asked for all the information they requested a couple of weeks ago to be completed. And they have said that the decision will be postponed until the next meeting, unless the information is received in the interim! |
| News Comment | You’re not sacked any more! at 14:38:53
Very interesting re BM. How can he go back when Cellino is there. He could not put himself in such a Dangerous situation. Interesting news ion the media in an Indian English paper that GFH have got to sell because they can't meet running costs at ER. Apparently they owe money to Haigh et al and need 4 million cto meet costs in February. Talk about an incompetent outfit and, interestingly, none of this is reported in Arabian press? Also, Flowers to mount legal case against FA if they approve sale to Cellino. So much eh, for having the interest of the community at heart? |
| News Comment | Salve Cel-land Road? at 22:05:13
At the end of the day any club relies on it's supporters! Bates only lasted so long because of all the smoke and mirrors he used, but when the gates went down he was left floundering in hostile 'waters'. No one can be as bad as Bates and I would not be too concerned about Cellino he doesn't want to damage his reputation on a failing club. Let's just see what happens. |
