Is the
Is the "Italian Job?" wide of the mark?

Reports that Cagliary owner Massimo Cellino is set to buy Leeds United appear to be wide of the mark?

The owner of the Sardinian outfit was apparently in London last week claiming he was looking at buying a goalkeeper, but reports today suggest that he held meetings with present Leeds owners GFH Capital.

Cellino refused to confirm or deny the story.

Maybe rumours of an 11th hour rival bid have emerged because the deal involving a consortium led by Leeds MD David Haigh seems to be taking longer than anticipated to complete?

Late last week it emerged that GFH blocked a £500k deal to sign Brighton's Ashley Barnes, the striker moved to Burnley instead reawakening fears that Leeds are set for another disappointing January transfer window, however this led to counter-claims Haigh's consortium had already put £6m into the club.

So personally I would take this one with a pinch of salt, it seems Mr Haigh and his buddies will gain majority power in the boardroom over the next couple of weeks and hopefully Brian McDermott can add one or two more new signings before the window shuts in just under two weeks time.

Let's hope and prey that this is bollocks! The last thing we want is this guy in charge. Let's stick with David Haigh, PLEASE!
