Alan Tate 11:33 - Jan 3 with 11913 viewsSMsW

Hi. Aberdeen fan here. Rumours are we are signing Alan Tate on loan till end of season later today.
Looks to have a decent pedigree but what type of player is he and how did the leg break effect him?

Too slow for the Premier league but very clever defender, streetwise and should do a good job for you.

Poll: Some scummer on the anus board reckons 80% of us want them to go down. so... do

Ginger legend.

He'll probably split your fanbase a bit, but he's been a hell of a player for us over the last ten years and it's a bit of a disappointment that he hasn't made the step up to the PL along with Leon Britton.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Will do him good to get game time, bit cold up there though!

Swansea legend -
kept being said (by fans!) he wouldn't be good enough to move up a level and then smashed it.
Had some time out following his golf buggy incident but is a brilliant player - very understated.
Best goalkeeping record of any Swansea defender.
Personally I'm disgusted he still hasn't had a testimonial

There's a very valid reason he hasn't had a testimonial it's because he hadn't been here long enough for tax relief etc.
you cannot take a loan period into consideration and his testimonial committee f*cked up when organising the United game at the beginning of the season. FACT

Signed permanently in Jan/Feb 2004 didn't he? So he'll be eligible for the full benefits this summer along with Monk.

Good player, good brain, no fear. Probably has a tendency to hoof it more than our other defenders which probably set him back a bit. Also likes to give the oppo one good chance per game.

Useful at your level and doubles up as a keeper when needed, two players for the price of one...bargain

Hoof it? Really?

He used to play the ball out from defence at every opportunity. I remember him starting many attacks (and baffling particularly lower league opposition) by doing this. In fact his lack of hoofing it and sometimes trying to beat a player in his own box got him pelters.

Swansea Legend.

Carried for years by a very well organised and tactically brilliant team. Also very lucky to be in the team through injuries to other players! The fact that Yeovil this and a struggling Leeds team last didn't want his loan extended says it all. Terrible player

Won't endear me to many on here, and I love the man as a Jack legend, but he will be about his level at lower champ/ Scottish Prem level, what he lacks in footballing talent he more than makes up for in effort and determination.

Don't be such a silly boy

Very good footballer, calm when required and a good passer of the ball. Plays the game the way it should be but unfortunately for him had a poor game when given a torrid time by Everton last season in what may be his last game for us

A valuable and very versatile player he is a centre back primarily but has been our player of the year at right back in league one. Certainly good enough to do well in the spl.

A great club man at swansea city and a huge part of the rags to riches story. Pleased for him that he got to captain us in the premier league too. Best of luck to him.

He's not an EPL standard player and if everyone's honest they'll agree.
He's been a great pro for us though.

As for Jango above what a c*nt.
