Alan Tate 11:33 - Jan 3 with 11916 views | SMsW | Hi. Aberdeen fan here. Rumours are we are signing Alan Tate on loan till end of season later today. Looks to have a decent pedigree but what type of player is he and how did the leg break effect him?

Alan Tate on 21:06 - Jan 3 by NeiltheTaylor | What position did he play when he was player f the season? Was it right back with Leon in front of him on the wing? |
Yep, both on the right. | |
| "Michu, Britton and Williams could have won 3-0 on their own. They wouldn't have required a keeper." | Poll: | Hattricks |

I still have nightmares about that, let alone Tate!

Alan Tate on 20:45 - Jan 3 by ItchySphincter | Nope. More likely to walk it out than Chico or Willams? Don't think so. Not being offensive here but far more likely to lump it forward than the others. |
This is Alan Tate - Thought you needed a reminder after that last comment you must be mixing him up with someone else. If Aberdeen fans want to welcome him the chant is, "You Jack Bastard" - this is how we have honoured our favourite and most prized players for years.

Alan Tate on 02:56 - Jan 5 with 3230 views | Highjack | Flipping heck that's a cracking signing for an SPL side. Watched an awful lot of Scottish football, and I go up to watch Kilmarnock quite often who are my second team for reasons I won't go into and that league is a veritable smorgasbord of sh ite.

I think you need to take my quote in context.

Kevin Austin judging by his comments?

Alan Tate on 15:40 - Jan 5 with 3104 views | Davillin | To SMsW, the O.P. What I note on this thread is that the most positive comments on Alan Tate appear to come from supporters who were here through all of the tough times for Swansea City, and saw Tate put in the hard graft by giving 100% every time he went on the pitch. For Swansea, Tate was always prepared to give what he had for the team, and not complain about it. He played across the back, occasionally in the midfield, and even as goalkeeper [which is the source of the comment about his having the best record between the sticks]. In my opinion, you may accept as truth that he is also very football-knowledgeable, making that his strength instead of pace, which he does not have. You may also accept as truth that he was never shy about physical contact. Not even remotely a dirty player or a cheat, he was willing to use his body as a shield and a weapon. Before the influx of fans who were not around in the days when he was always available and always battling, a popular chant and post was "We all dream of a team of Alan Tates," You may rest assured that that was not said or sung as a joke, because he could and did play anywhere except striker; and if put up front, he would give 100% at all times and probably find some success. Someone above suggested that you praise him as "You Jack Bastard," which is probably the highest compliment a Swansea player could hear. [Post edited 5 Jan 2014 15:41]

| Even the bad times were good. |
