tom cruizer on 13:05 - Jun 30 by TacticalR | Last year there was an interview with screenwriter Paul Haggis where he talks about why he left the Scientologists after 35 years. The issues that drove Haggis away from the cult were: his daughter's homosexuality, the widespread hostility to homosexuality in the organisation, and the San Diego church's public sponsorship of Proposition 8 (which Eliminates Rights of Same-Sex Couples to Marry). http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/apr/23/try-to-leave-church-scientology-lawr I don't mean to single out the Scientologists, as our own state-sponsored cult, the Church of England (led by our dear old Queen), is tying itself in knots over the same issue. |
Strange how the ephemeral is tax deductable. God moves in mysterious ways.

Very pithy advice. A drunken Scotsman on a bus once said to me,"keep it in yer troosers laddie". And I've largely lived by that axiom ever since.

You keep adding anti-gay inferences where there weren't any and making an enormous mountain out of a very small molehill to prove how very right on you are and how very homophobic I am and I'll pretend to give a flying one to make you happy. Deal?

Don't be such a sanctimonious prat hoopstar are you sleeping with them or something? Beside it's way beyond rumour - it's been well known fact about Travolta and Cruise for over a decade.

I think you are turning matters on their head. Why should Cruise or anyone else have to announce whether they are gay? And are all the gay footballers who keep quiet 'lying'? The fact that *you* are so enlightened on this issue doesn't mean everyone else is. And the fact that some people don't feel able to tell the truth, is a reflection on society, not on them. Here is what Oscar Wilde had to say on the subject: "The fact is, that the public have an insatiable curiosity to know everything, except what is worth knowing. Journalism, conscious of this, and having tradesman-like habits, supplies their demands. In centuries before ours the public nailed the ears of journalists to the pump. That was quite hideous. In this century journalists have nailed their own ears to the keyhole. That is much worse. And what aggravates the mischief is that the journalists who are most to blame are not the amusing journalists who write for what are called Society papers. The harm is done by the serious, thoughtful, earnest journalists, who solemnly, as they are doing at present, will drag before the eyes of the public some incident in the private life of a great statesman, of a man who is a leader of political thought as he is a creator of political force, and invite the public to discuss the incident, to exercise authority in the matter, to give their views, and not merely to give their views, but to carry them into action, to dictate to the man upon all other points, to dictate to his party, to dictate to his country; in fact, to make themselves ridiculous, offensive, and harmful. The private lives of men and women should not be told to the public. The public have nothing to do with them at all. In France they manage these things better."

How is it a fact? Have they come out and said they are gay? All just hearsay and rumour. I suppose Graeme Le Saux in your eyes was gay as well.

Don't give a toss what you think, the thread was started because he is getting divorced and the reason was because he was gay,no evidence to support that, all that i have read was maybe it was about scientology and his beliefs, but that's still all hearsay,no one knows until his wife tells all.Didn't say you were anti-gay, was pointing out why spread rumours about someone when there are no facts, just hearsay.
tom cruizer on 18:35 - Jun 30 with 1431 views | hoopstilidie | "the thread was started because he is getting divorced and the reason was because he was gay" Except it actually wasn't was it? It was mentioned that the rumours would probably increase, that's all and it appears that the OP was correct in that as they have done from a multitude of outlets. As I said, you keep making stuff up to fuel your little hissy outrage if it makes you feel better.

I can only say that he's about the least gay person I've ever met. In fact he's a bit of a womaniser if anything. Much like the Richard Gear Hamster alleged incident, it's all urban myth.
