Coleman and Jones at war? 00:08 - Apr 11 with 4058 viewsDalelover1

I've just heard on way home from a stranger on the bus, who knows a player but wouldn't tell me who, that Coleman and our captain traded insults at half-time and it's been coming for weeks between the pair of them. Very sad indeed if true. I'm new on here but saddened and await confirmation. Anybody else heard anything? Some of the quotes were raw to say the least and apparently all of the team backed-up Jones and turned on Coleman. I fear that we're going nowhete fast with this useless scouse bully in charge.

there is no biased selection problem. Obviously his signings policy has seen him recruit a number of former Accy players, but in terms of picking them, they've probably been given less of a chance of anyone. Nobody could really say with any justification that Edwards and McConville have been given preferential treatment.

What I would say is that one of our biggest problems at the moment is the malaise that exists within the playing squad. I fully agree that there's no team spirit (look at Sheff United last night how they celebrated as a team). Sometimes I read too much into stuff, but even at the Chinese night last week, there were two separate tables of players with little mixing between the two.

I think our players have hidden behind the managerial problems this year. Given that for all intents and purposes we are on our fourth manager in less than a year, many people have rightly attached blame to the disastrous start to the season, but that leaves the players completely absolved from any blame, and as I said a couple of days ago, it perhaps says it all that they can raise their game for the derby games but revert to type for the bread and butter games.

I don't think we've seen the real Coleman yet. Knowing the position that we've been in, he's had to handle many of the players with kid gloves knowing that he may need to call upon them for a do or die game. As soon as relegation is confirmed, I think we'll see Coleman really get his feet under the table and I'd imagine a few players will have a few home truths told, and personally I've never looked forward to the day the retained list is released as much as I am doing this year.

Based on that theory it comes across that JC is trying players like Symes, Edwards, McConville to see what they may offer to the team come next season.
On their showings so far nothing..but perhaps they are Div.2 players and Div1 is beyond them..

From what i was told bury are going to do their utmost to prise Adams, Grimes from dale in the summer.
Looks like JC has a bigger job than he thought when became manager...
With regards to the unrest its been there since SE became manager, but i would not be surprised if the catalyst in all this is Beech as he made his feelings known when SE took over..

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

One thing Coleman needs is time. He needs a chance to show us what he can do with his own players, regardless of where they come from or who they have played for. Gary Jones is a Dale legend and wears his dale heart on his sleeve. I'm sure he cares passionately about the club. There is no doubt that this season will have hurt him like it has us all.

I don't share the optimistic view of many in the short term for next season. Coleman will be starting from scratch and will need at least 2 years to build something. One thing is sure. We were spoilt by our previous management team who brought a level of professionalism to to our club never seen before. Sadly I fear I can add or since as we do seem to have slipped back in all areas.

Let's hope JC can build quickly in the summer and at least make us a team that is competitive.

I think four of the line up last night were under contract for next season jk, Jonah, Byrne and Tutte. Of the others I'd keep jlaa although I can see symes signing as well

Three problems

1. Rochdale, under Coleman, have played pub football. I saw them warming up for the Brentford away game (got there 60mins early) - they trained like a pub team.

2. Players obviously don't like the guy - easy to spot - no player making eye contact with him, no pre-match laughs, banter between him and the players. I suspect OP story is true.

3. Biased selection policy explains problem (2). Stupid to hire only ex-Accy or just scousers

Many on here are way too complacent. Rochdale under Coleman will finnish well below well managed div 2 teams like Morecambe. Relegation or Dale?

Are you a phycholoist?

10th post, surely a wind up?

By all accounts Jonah has been whingng and causing unrest all season but perhaps this is down to frustration at the quality of his the team mates he has been saddled with this season ?

Jones has earned the right to winge and moan after wot he gave over last 3 seasons, shame a few others don't share the same passion and pride as a bloke coming to the end of his career and seeing all the hard work he put in coming to this

So we have Adams and Grimes who want out, then we have Jones having a go at the manager..
What next!
My arguement is show your frustration on the opposition lads not within the club.
At the end of the day if you dont like the person in charge the clubs suffers, i sugguestbthat you all take stock of the situation as the club are stirring certain relegation in the face as a player are happy about that!
I wouldnt think so as long as you get paid who cares, well we do the supportes, when your career is long since over its us fans who are still on the terrace cheering and hoping for a win or promotion..
So pull your socks up knuck down and give the fans something to shout about or shipout and dont come back nobody is bigger than the club and that includes the entire squad, the management...
Come saturday i fully expect jones to be stripped of his captaincy and hand it to kennedy....

if the rumours are true coleman has to show his metal and his intentions for next season nobody is bigger than the club
