Varane 10:21 - Dec 22 with 4244 views | bosh67 | From lost in space to team pilot. It has taken some time for him to get up to speed but bloody hell he controls the midfield now. His reading of the game is so good now and he plays with a maturity well beyond his years. He seems to absolutely love it as well and has a fantastic relationship with the fans. Could be a real gem for us. Thoughts?

Varane on 22:05 - Dec 22 with 1052 views | mart_Goblin | As usual, we as Rangers fans and probably football fans in general go overboard . Gets sent off acclimatising and he’s the worst player ever to wear the hoops. Has a few decent games and he’s a multi million pound premier league star in the making . Varane has a lot to learn still but importantly he is learning quick. Starting to understand the championship and more importantly our club and its supporters (tough ask that one 🤣). But in all seriousness he’s doing all the right things and playing well. He looks like he’s enjoying it too. Only young too . Good for him . But let’s not starting putting him and Declan Rice in the same sentence just yet . That doesn’t do the lad any favours .

So does that mean we can't say... Jonathan Varane and Declan Rice went out for a curry? - or did you mean just in the footballing sense? :)

Varane on 15:21 - Dec 22 by CiderwithRsie | On this basis, can anyone point out some way in which Jimmy Dunne is "a bit mad" (unless playing like Cafu while being Irish and built like a brick sh*thouse counts), because he is definitely in the "love" rather than "like" category. The comparisons with Alan McDonald stack up for me, and let's face it Macca was pretty eccentric. Please tell me that he insists on reciting a haiku composed in Gaelic before every game or something. |
Wins every header Even playing at wide right Jimmy - what a guy! (Translated from the original Gaelic)

Varane on 12:43 - Dec 22 by JamesB1979 | No coincidence that since he came back from suspension that we have looked much more solid. Look at our results when he wasn’t playing. Don’t understand the criticism of a young player in his first season in English football. Seems a decent lad too |
That is so great to see. | |

Varane on 10:18 - Dec 23 with 479 views | aston_hoop | Was looking at some defensive stats today and Varane is ranking top 3 in the squad for things like tackles, interceptions and blocks. Basic stats really and of course he should for the role he plays. But thats with fewer minutes than those ranking alongside him. I'm not a stats guy by any means, could all be nonsense, so would love it if he gets a section next time one of the analytics guys does a LFW article. Please. Just to see his impact compared to others who play that role.

Varane on 15:33 - Dec 23 with 350 views | Rsole | I don’t think anyone expects him to be as good as Rice (or any other cereal for that matter), but a few more ‘maizey’ runs and taking more ‘corn-ers’ would help. Warbs could have baked him into his squad overnight and sold him fresh the next day… The observation was simply that there are lower level Prem teams with (sometimes significant) money to spend on these types of players and given some of the price tags, they are seemingly in short supply, so there’s potential - if he develops, if his contract allows and if he stays injury free. Better potential for us than having a great Goalie that might only fetch a couple of million, because he’s a great Goalie, as we have seen. What did Adam Wharton sell for ? Something around £20M maybe. Again, I’m not saying he’s that good or even remotely comparable at this stage, only that there’s a solid market for similar players at the types of clubs that buy from QPR and that’s a good thing for all concerned. Whether he (and we) realise the potential is another matter. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Varane on 14:12 - Dec 22 by dmm | You're so spot on, Dorse. Marsh, Bowles, Taarabt and many more were all 'a little bit mad'. Mind you, derangement generally shouldn't go as far as Diakite levels for reasons of in play health and safety. |
Derangement should ALWAYS go to Diakité levels

I loved the unhinged insanity of Diakete and some moments of brilliance. Wonder how it played out for him.

Varane on 19:43 - Dec 23 with 68 views | Hoopstar | Even though Varane is 23 it is only his second real season of first team football looking at his appearances. 39 for Sporting Gijon last year but a bit part player here and there as a youngster so while not young young he is very much still learning and short of his prime. On less than 100 career appearances still Amazed at his development in a short period of time and excited to see where he goes from here but yeah really beginning to look the part.
