Would have been more interesting if Ireland were awarded that clear penalty for that foul on Ferguson but as usual VAR did nothing to help matters .

Yes that's something he needs to work on and he's clearly targeted by refs now but his overall play was so good at times, that cross for the 5th goal was brilliant | | | |

They did review it but as both players were puling shirts nothing was given

Fell asleep watching the first half .
Entirely predictable after the sending off and penalty.
Ireland could compete with England 20 years ago .
However since England got thier s**t together with St Georgeโs park and Southgateโs input they have moved off into the distance.
Ireland rely on players permanently in a purgatory of Championship and lower premier league players.
England could have fielded a C team and still won comfortably.
The defending by Ireland though was abysmal.
Almost QPResque at times.
Still at least I didnโt have to watch two ex Ireland internationals scoring against my lot.

The result was never in doubt. When the fourth best team in the world plays a competitive home match against a team ranked #63, there will only be one outcome. You could see from the body language of the Irish team after the first goal was conceded, that they had nothing left to give, especially with only 10 on the pitch. They had run themselves into the ground by that point. Changes could have been made then, but it wouldn't have changed the result.
The question I'd be asking is how on earth did England end up playing in the second tier of the competition? |  | | |
