Rest of the Championship thread 11:07 - Aug 10 with 68137 views | Hunterhoop | Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc? For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te? Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull. Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

Rest of the Championship thread on 22:09 - Dec 10 by Watford_Ranger | I’d argue Stoke have more chance of being dragged into it as the season goes on than Luton. Surprised Edwards has clung on but they’ve got good players and they’ll win home games at least. Stoke will just do what Stoke always do. |
Luton will be fine, Stoke and Derby within touching distance now. was and is really important not to get cut adrift, we'l lose games over christmas but the more teams we can drag into this the better, a win for us tomorrow is vital though, build on momentum and start to look up the table rather than down

Rest of the Championship thread on 20:36 - Dec 10 by Northernr | Well I've just watched half of Pompey Norwich and Norwich are every bit as strange as they were on Saturday. All of them seem to be on a mission to get sent off and Marcondes is once again spending all his time chasing the referee around. |
It's that time of the year when some players look forward to taking a break from work and spending more time with their families over Christmas. We have had a few players like that over the years.

Rest of the Championship thread on 21:57 - Dec 10 by bosh67 | Yes Stoke are so weird. I thought they would pull away from us this season but they are like a friendly malignant twin and whatever season it is they just try and stay as close to us as they can. Last season we virtually had identical stats to Stoke. As was the season before that and so on. They have a lot more money than us but never seem to get the appointments or the balance right. That is also two games in a row they have managed to chuck away in the final minutes. Mind you, you look at some of the 'Prem' players still in the Luton team and you wonder why they are making such heavy weather of it? |
Championship innit. Had the misfortune of watching some of the Leeds match last night - they really should be going straight back up with the players they have, but will be hilarious if they choke again. Meanwhile the Rooney management masterclass at Plymouth continues apace

Rest of the Championship thread on 20:48 - Dec 13 with 2388 views | ManinBlack | By playing on the front foot taking the game to a poor side has seen Derby rewarded. This is how we should have gone after Oxford in the first half instead of the slops we served up wasting a half.

I've got a terrible memory for the detail of games, but even I can remember how bad Portsmouth were. A that point it felt like a relegation fodder type loss.

The flip side of that, Clive is that we have earned points against other relegation teams (Cardiff in particular) whilst playing very poorly. I think (as per your glossary) it probably evens itself out over the course of the season

For the rest of us (me and HaddockMan) they've done us a favour! Edit: Posted before they scored the winner, still a draw probably a decent result for us as we EE-II.... [Post edited 20 Dec 21:55]

Luton still very dangerous on corners, otherwise not much cop.

Rest of the Championship thread on 14:36 - Dec 21 with 25 views | ManinBlack | We couldn't beat either Pompey or Coventry at home. Looks like Portsmouth are improving with 3-0 and 4-1 home wins in last two The one aberration in their last 6 matches was the dismal display at Derby. Getting more difficult to predict who will drop.
