Utterly bizarre timing. If they were going to bring in someone new why wouldn't they give him the entire International break to use for preparation? Now, the next manager will be parachuted into an already-doomed season with no time to spare. Also, the fact that they're practically down will shorten the list of available managers considerably. If they did this a month ago they might have been better served. Then you have Brian Little boldly promising that the next manager will be British. Good, because further shortening your options will certainly help.

On the British manager thing...I guess a lot of clubs react to failure by doing the opposite of what they did before. Prior to him turning up at the turn of the sixties they had won the square root of fck all and had spent a lot of time in the second tier, one second division title in 42 years of existence.
