Senedd election 22:58 - Apr 4 with 21288 views | CwmafanJack | How do you see it ending up? Personally can see labour loosing quite a few votes to plaid not enough to make a significant difference though. Can see the tories doing better than expected but abolish taking votes off them. Odds on labour plaid coalition. Constituency changes can't see many. Plaid to take llanelli and maybe Carmarthen west and south pembs with outside chance Caerphilly, Cardiff west Tories to take Bridgend and maybe one or two up north east Wales. Labour not to win any new seats

Might getting interesting, it's doubtful that Labour can be caught in this Senedd election but it's early days in this count yet so who knows how things will pan out.

The Montgomery Tory vote was astonishing too.

They’ve only now verified the number of votes in the ballot boxes and they’re about to start counting them according to my wife who’s down there. They’re deciding whether to count until late or stop soon and return tomorrow.

40% apparently. Now counting the regional vote, they drafted some more people in so it’s motoring now.

It's a disaster for Plaid. How long do they continue to claim that they are making ground when they clearly aren't? I honestly think Plaid need to drop the independence mantra as not even the under 18's are interested. An amazing result for Labour. How they managed that I don't know.

The difference in outcomes across Wales, England and Scotland is stark today. It’s Brexit isn’t it? Scotland wanted to stay playing to independence, Wales voted leave but still can’t bear to vote Tory.

Not sure it is an amazing result for Labour they regained Rhondda which has always been labour's heartland and lost one constituency seat. The former regional seats that were held by UKIP, which not longer has a policy as the UK have left the EU , are being shared out under the proportional representation system. Apathy for the Senedd remains as 53% of voters do not think it is worth casting a vote for. Drakeford decision to give votes the 16 and 17 year old school children does not seem to have increased interest in the Senedd.

Not wishing to get into a bitchfest , but take away what ever colour rosette you wear and this would have applied if the Tories had been the current incumbents , this is not a great victory for the people of Wales. When we needed changes with a drive towards inward investment , a much improved Welsh NHS , education and and financial equality in the infrastructure of the country , can anyone truthfully say that this is the start of a new dawn or another 5 years of what we've witnessed from the past 20 . Yes Wales is red but we're no better for it imo.

Which is the case of many northern cities where class hatred is endemic. Kids ,if they do vote, would never ever vote Tory in Liverpool. You see the intolerance in posts of builth which how exactly how people are intimidated. We will be forever screwed until we sort this out. FREEDOM FOR A FREE VOTE

Final results in Labour 1 seat gained Conservatives 5 seats gained. PC 1 seat gained despite their share of the constituency and regional votes falling. The wonders of proportional representation. Liberals 1 seat an even larger fall in both their constituency and regional votes. They swap their constituency seat for a regional seat but their 1 seat gives them the balance of power. UKIP lost all 7 seats. All other parties nil seats.

No PC constituency vote down 0.2% Plaid regional vote down 0.1% Even though their regional vote fell very marginally they gained two extra seats. Entirely due to UKIP who lost all 7 regional seats.

Price may have claimed they had increased their vote share but not according to the official results. Constituency votes down 0.2%, regional votes down 0.1% It is probably true PC increased their number of votes. In 2016 1,016,119 votes were cast. 45.3% turnout In 2021 1,121,870 votes were cast. 47% turnout The registered electorate increased by 138,000 due to 16 and 17 years old being able to vote.

Senedd election on 07:29 - Apr 5 by felixstowe_jack | Latest polls contine to show labour are losing votes with Conservatives, Plaid and AWA gaining votes. Even Drakeford is behind in his own seat. Wales is clearly tired with labour's failed policies which have seen standards fall in education, health. Wales needs modern progressive policies to boost industry, infrastructure including M4 update. Wales also needs policies to boost it's major industry tourism rather than policies designed to drive tourists away |

Well done labour gained one seat. While your PC independence party disappeared. Thanks for pointing out the opion polls were wrong again including you post that 43% of Wales are in favour of independence. PC managed just 20% Vote increase constituency seats. Labour 5.2% Conservatives 4.7% Vote increase regional seats. Conservatives 6.3% Labour 5.0%
