Following on from Brian's thread, how about the alternative view. Players that you believed to be crap but you still man loved them all the same.
I'll start with Karl Ready. Realise I'll get pelters for it but he was at our club for over 10 years, gave his all despite, let's just say not being the most talented player.
I don't actually love him but I do respect him for what he did, tried to do and put up with.

Steve Palmer back in the day before the junior Rs Christmas and birthday cards had the players signatures scanned on his was the only signature that appeared on all my kids cards in his time at the club so respect to him for that
I’ve got an old Rangers Christmas card with someone’s name Tippexed out. Classy.

Already mentioned, but Devon White was the one player who just didn't look like he belonged at our level but also used to get real enthusiasm from the crowd. It started out as ironic but became genuine.
I think it was because not only was he trying his best but (and this is where he had the edge on Dominic Iorfa, who I was also fond of) he did actually score some handy goals. He could simultaneously look like a clumsy great lump and utterly confuse the opposition, it was like they too thought he must be crap but couldn't quite work out how to play him.
Is he in Forever Rs yet? Would be a worthy candidate if not.
I always remember the Norwich centre-halfs pushing up and pushing up, occasionally looking at Devon White and thinking "nah, he's alright, push up". And then....

No irony lost in Holloway (mentioned in this thread) putting that ball through.

Devon White is a great call. He was definitely shite and I definitely loved him.
Was just coming to say the same thing!
We used to laugh when his name was announced at the start of his QPR career - to be fair he was bloody awful - but then he always seemed to score and he became a cult hero.
The day in Norwich when we won 4-3 and he was unplayable will always live long in the memory. We sung Bruno for England and, do you know what, the way he played that day he possibly deserved a chance...

He Played like bernd schuster for about 8 games with his Paul Warhurst goal spree all teamed up with a David Sylvian 'visions of china' cut to his jib.

How he scored all those goals I'll never know.
He had the turning circle of a battleship and the first touch of an elephant. So out of his depth at this keel it was embarrassing. According to Wikipedia he played 87 times for us which is even more embarrassing. I used to cringe every time I saw his name on the team sheet.

Didn’t spurs try to buy him during that time ? Think Darlington was also muted as part of the deal as well
