Been reading up about Grant Hall and it seems that he signed a 3 year contract at spuds in July 2012, which means it should have been up on Friday 😄
Also seems that he was their U21 captain a few years ago but he was sent out on loan to Blackpool, Birmingham and Swindon and didn't get a look in under the new manager. CR clearly knows him and probably let Caulker go to Soton as he was going to come to us. I'm pleased he had a good game as we so need a young tall decent centre half and he seems the right sort who wants to play. |

late in the 2nd Half Clint made a really good run and cross. Some wag in the crowd shouts 'Clint you've still got it!!'
Clint looks up smiles then does a knackered stagger back to his position.
Thought the team played.... like a team. Good short rapid passing movements which was continued 2nd half when the line up totally changed. Something I've not seen down W12 for a very long time.
Atalanta are no mugs and plenty of hard challenges going in from both sides even from Ale. Thought their fans were great and chatted to a couple after.
Like us they support their team no matter what, good, bad, indifferent. They like us expect their players to play for the shirt. They got their wish as their players not only gave them their shirts after the game but their shorts as well. They hate Brescia and AC Milan. These two now hate Chelsea

Game started at 04.30 am over here so didn't bother watching it - would be good to hear more from those who went.
Just watched the 5 mins of "extended highlights" on player. Granted they are highlights but I thought some of our attacking build-up looked smart, we've got a buszaky quality delivery back in Chery (his set pieces from deep were superb and he must surely be targeting double figures in goals at this level), some other tidy / well constructed moves as well. |  | | |
