Swansea City v Leeds United : Match day thread UPDATED on 19:32 - Nov 24 by Boundy | Was it an easy win , I must have been watching a different match |
Exactly. They had to work hard for it and even then only won because we "allowed" them to. They know they got away with one.

Swansea City v Leeds United : Match day thread UPDATED on 22:07 - Nov 24 by builthjack | Both fullbacks good in attack. They both need to learn defensive duties though. |
Yes but this is what they are asked to do get up field, we know Key has pace to burn and as has been said Tymon is one of our best crosses of the ball on the left, why because he is left footed. So let's see what is suppose to happen when our full backs are press so high, surely the opposite fullback must drop in to cover the centrehalves as the push across to cover the fullback pushed forward otherwise the other centre half has to decide where does he cover Cabango was caught out of position he should have been in behind Darling as he is forced out to the winger defending that front post cross with Key also covering and the central defence midfielder should also be in position to cover.Cabango OG was because he was trying to right the mistake of the first goal. This is not having a go at Cabango, Darling, Key or Tymon this is about how they and the whole team are asked play throwing stupid goals away. We have seen it with Martin and now with William's once you are up in games you don't give away silly goals away by over committing players forward, we didn't need to, the gaps in the Leeds defence were there because of the high press leaving space in behind their full backs accurate balls over the top or down the channels were killing them, no need for the fullbacks to press on because their wingers weren't going to chase back with them, once lost in midfield gaps in our defences were evident. And this is what i saw as well. Did not stop the Leeds break and he should have done. By any means necessary.

Yes they can, just have to see if William's can work out what is going wrong, The balance between attack and defence has been a problem since relegation and obviously the cause of that relegation, we now seem to have some good quality in the team but we are getting caught out by teams often in the same ways.

Yesterday’s example was losing possession in midfield, Grimes and Key both to blame. That led to goals. Lazy football. The players are switching off at very crucial times.

There was no reason to have them on the ball so much especially after scoring the press is bound to come, quick balls into space behind their defence would give us time to regroup as a defensive unit, how many time can you give the ball away in crucial areas of the park. Same mistakes have to be rectified as a press must be expected quick ball to players who can see what is in front of them. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Swansea City v Leeds United : Match day thread UPDATED on 09:55 - Nov 25 with 70 views | Legend83 | Yep, hate to say it but we should have just applied some good old "balls down the channels" and let Leeds come to us from deep. Not lose possession on the half-way line trying to play cute passes, while our defensive line was 25 yards to high! I think if Williams was brave (or just creative) he should have brought Naughton and Christie on, hooked Ronald and MPH and pushed Tymon and Key up - they were pretty much playing as wing-backs / additional midfielders already. Think we could have won it then.
Swansea City v Leeds United : Match day thread UPDATED on 09:56 - Nov 25 with 70 views | RichardO | It seems as if we are so close but so far from being one of the top teams in the division, very frustrating.
Swansea City v Leeds United : Match day thread UPDATED on 11:10 - Nov 25 with 11 views | Treforys_Jack | Play with that much high tempo and commitment against the other teams in the division and we'll win far more than we'll lose. A bit of managerial naivety cost us in the end. Feel LW is learning as he's goin along, hopefully he'll be poached in 18mths time which will mean he's done a good job.
Swansea City v Leeds United : Match day thread UPDATED on 11:12 - Nov 25 with 7 views | Treforys_Jack | Not sure its been mentioned and even though it went against us, what a fantastic job the lino did, he must have been under intense pressure from the East Stand and those calls were so tight. He got them all spot on, another day, at least 1 maybe 2 of the Leeds goals would have been disallowed.
