What will be this weeks excuses? 16:54 - Oct 4 with 6631 viewsDwightYorkeSuperstar

We cannot use the following excuses this week;

The referee cost us the game

The other team spend a lot more money than us

We went down to 10 men so it's okay to not win or play well

We had a weak bench

I'm puzzled as to what we'll use this week? Any suggestions? I'll list peoples suggestions below;

LisaLondon: "Bony missed easy chances"
Garry Monk: "We didn't concentrate"

I'm very annoyed, Perch.

We should have won that game with ease. We were 10x the team they were.

Why we can't put these teams away despite our overwhelming superiority is difficult to understand.

Garry has put together an outstanding team which is not picking up the results it should be doing.

Christmas come early for Mr Superstar. If Newcastle had bagged a 90th min winner, I think he wouldn't be able to contain himself.

I believed today the players believed their own good press and not for the first time got fooked. We have to nail these teams or we ll be stuffed again. Cisse is dangerous

Agreed on that. They were there for the taking had we played to our strengths and not theirs.

umm, we did play to our strengths - that's why we created a series of gilt edged chances which we conspired to miss or were saved.

The team overall created enough to have won with ease - we didn't win because we missed easy (ish) opportunities to win. Bony could have scored three or four himself. It's incredibly annoying, but at least DYSS can enjoy himself .

Swansea manager Garry Monk: "We should have won the game. The two times we didn't concentrate we were punished but one point is better than none.

"The possession was so easy that our concentration lapsed a little. We talked about managing the game properly but we didn't do it. We had chances to put the game to bed and didn't so we ran the risk of that happening."

Two world class saves from Krul. Disappointing the lack of subs, we done enough to have won that game.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

I'll put it bluntly for once .

Stop believing our own hype , one up & world beaters went forward slower than Sousas team .
2 full backs who despite 60% of the ball overlapped about twice each .

Angels legs ave gone ! My arse

Still top half ,

They were fu cking dreadful

Our squad is light

Subsitutions were late .. Way to late .

Keep the faith .

As they say we are 5th for fu ck sake

Not sure panicking and playing hoofball for 30 mins is our strength. Just reflect on how we created those chances and then think about what we did for the rest of the game. It was pretty obvious we could play through them with a bit of clever movement, but we chose route 1 far too much. Get the ball on the floor and we looked a million miles better.

Worthy of Brentan, that one.

Perhaps his concentration lapsed too and he forgot to put Montero on.

we didn't play hoofball for 30 minutes though. We panicked after they scored their second goal but even after that created chances.

That wasn't what lost us the two points though. Too slow a tempo and switching off did that. Montero is a fantastic talent, but when he was on he was running down blind alleys because we weren't finding the space that helps us normally make things look easy.

Fair play to Krul though. On another day that could easily have been 4-2.

what lost us 2 points was that we didn't clinically take our chances.

But then that's why we are not challenging for a top 4 place. It's because strikers that do take every chance (or pretty much every chance) cost tens of millions and earn £100k plus a week. We can't afford them, so we have forward players who don't finish every one but will finish one or two in a game. I don't mean just Bony - I mean the front 4.

Every team concedes a number of chances in a game to the other side - it's having the ability to create more chances than you concede that makes you a good team, and we do that in pretty much every match. If our front players were absolute top quality, we'd be a great side as we would win today 4 or 5 2 rather than drawing.

I think we played too much long ball for the last 10 minutes, but not really very much until then. There were a couple of times where I thought Fernandez or Williams sent it too long rather than play through the middle, but I really didn't think it was for anything like 30 minutes.

I disagree

We were poor today . Against a very very poor side .

In fact they were 3 rd worst premeir league team I have seen down here .

Well we created enough to have won the match several times over so it depends what everyone means by poor. It's transparently bloody irritating that we didn't win, but we've created a lot less in games and won before now.

There were 2 areas I was disappointed in (since I accept that we will give away chances at the back a couple of times each match) other than Bony missing a couple that he should have scored.

i thought Dyer was flattering to deceive and would have brought Montero on and switched Routs across, probably for the whole second half (in fact, I would start Montero and give Dyer a rest next time out) and I thought that both Taylor and Richards passed back when they should have been looking forward on a few occasions - Rangel powers us up one flank and it's noticeable that Taylor doesn't, and Jazz didn't today either, so we were a little static up the sides.

Newcastle were poor - I bet they don't go down this year though.
