Blackburn Rovers v Swansea City : Team News Saturday, 18th Feb 2023 11:45 by Swansea Independent It’s Blackburn Rovers v Swansea City in the sky bet championship today, kick off 3pm at Ewood Park. Pay on the day for all fans is available if you fancy a very late decision on going to the game. Team news appears here at 2pm UK time Blackburn Rovers: Aynsley Pears, Harry Pickering, Daniel Ayala, Dominic Hyam, Sam Gallagher, Tyrhys Dolan, Sorba Thomas, Hayden Carter, John Buckley, Ben Brereton Diaz, Lewis Travis (captain). Substitutes: Joe Hilton, Sammie Szmodics, Tyler Morton, Callum Brittain, Ash Phillips, Bradley Dack, Ryan Hedges. Swansea City: Andy Fisher; Nathan Wood, Harry Darling, Ben Cabango; Joel Latibeaudiere, Jay Fulton, Joe Allen, Matt Grimes (captain), Ryan Manning; Luke Cundle; Joel Piroe. Substitutes: Andreas Sondergaard, Olivier Ntcham, Morgan Whittaker, Liam Cullen, Liam Walsh, Matty Sorinola, Ollie Cooper. The hosts will go with Aynsley Pears in goal again. Scott Wharton is definitely out today and Joe Rankin-Costello is facing a late fitness test which could mean Callum Brittain makes his first start since December tenth. Adam Wharton is also out. The difference between Jon Dahl Tomasson and Swansea’s Russell Martin is strength in depth. Tomasson can play with his selections to the extent Sorba Thomas has played a large volume of matches, so he could come out for Ryan Hedges. Sam Gallagher is also pushing for a start ahead of Tyrhys Dolan. Swansea City latest from the team hotel. The Swans have long a term injury in Steven Benda and despite the signing of goalkeeper Andreas Sondergaard yesterday he won’t threaten Andy Fisher’s inclusion in goal at any point unless he is injured. The free agent has signed until the end of the season. He has been a free agent for two weeks. Nathan Wood will start at Ewood Park, and indications are that Kyle Naughton is in Russell Martin’s thoughts. Ryan Manning will also start for the Swans. In midfield we will expect to see Matt Grimes and Jay Fulton but it’s the other two positions in that area that will be a slight selection issue. Luke Cundle has looked a likely starter from training patterns this week, albeit briefly. That leaves Olivier Ntcham or Ollie Cooper if as expected Joel Piroe starts up front. There are a few omissions there so it’s a straight choice between Joel Latibeaudiere and Matt Sorinola for us based on latest information. Any result bar a loss for the Swans would be most welcome with Stoke City coming up at home on Tuesday evening.
