RamZone Recommends: The Hinckley Knight Thursday, 11th Nov 2010 15:15 by Foxy Forager No, it’s not a poem or a short story! It’s a pub in Leicestershire. We’ve been contacted by the general manager of the Hinckley Knight public house in Burbage, Hinckley, which is 10 miles from the Walkers Stadium - with an invite for Derby away fans attending the Foxes vs. Rams match on Saturday. It’s a convenient stop-off point if you are travelling via the M69, being just off Junction 1 of the motorway, on the A5. It is 1.3 miles from Hinckley rail station and 4.4 miles from Nuneaton rail station. Full details are: The Hinckley Knight, Watling Street, Burbage Hinckley, Leicestershire, LE10 2JQ Tel: 01455 610773 E-mail: hinckley.knight8267@thespiritgroup.com Here’s a map link: http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&where1=LE10%202JQ&encType=1 The general manager, Andrew, informs us that it’s an away fan-friendly pub which has proved a pleasant and trouble-free venue for all travelling fans. It has affordable drinks with Fosters at £1.90 and John Smith at £1.80 per pint and has Sky Sports and ESPN too. Andrew says he has a ’special menu’ for away fans (we’re not sure if that includes roast fox!) He asks supporters’ groups with organised coaches or fans travelling to the game to contact him by email or telephone beforehand if they are planning to touch down at the Hinckley Knight, to help him with numbers and staffing. If you visit the Hinckley Knight, pass on feedback to the proprietor and other Rams fans – and have a great day!
RamZone have no affiliation with the Hinckley Knight nor have accepted any renumeration for this recommendation. We are always happy to promote or relay match day information if we believe it will enhance the match day experience of our fellow Rams fans.
