We are reading nothing in to the Macauley Langstaff saga as it stands as Swansea City assistant coach to Luke Williams, Ryan Harley has spent a fair bit of time with Notts CEO, Joe Palmer a well regarded figure at Notts County.

CEO Joe Palmer was previously chief operating officer at Sheffield Wednesday, chief executive at AFC Wimbledon and executive director of strategy, commerce and marketing at Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, during its Champions League era. He has a wealth of experience and has most certainly moved on his clubs off and on the field profile in the year he has been there.

We understand Ryan was seen with Palmer and numerous other Notts County staff last Thursday at an England fan park, this after England drew 1-1 with Denmark. As much as people would like to link this as an insider report into Harley and the CEO we believe it was merely a catch up with friends. Russell Martin has continued his links with Swansea City staff, granted not with Andrew Coleman and the actual hierarchy so tongues could well now be wagging ( more in hope ) that the two discussed Langstaff that evening.

They may well have, but nobody can determine that. We remain ambivalent on this story.

What we do know is Millwall have made an offer to Notts County for Langstaff, rumours of £2,000,000 seems a bit off track for an opening bid, but then swans have not made any official move. We believe that the club can’t bring in anyone until Jerry Yates passes a medical and signs for Derby County. That seems logical, and from Monday profit and sustainability governance ticks over to the 2026 declaration which means any business done from July 1st won’t be included next year.

We have also now received some information on Ji-sung Eom, the South Korean twenty two year old who is currently on the books at Gwangju FC. There does now seem to be some flexibility with Ji-Sung’s club and they are now speaking openly about his transfer. We know that the Swans have made a bid, but we also know that the club via a management official, possibly, Geun-hoon Lim (not sourced) that the bid isn’t acceptable. That means more dialogue and more money if the Swans want their man. The intricacies of the deal have gone down to the Swans advising Gwangju FC of his first team role should be come to Swansea, and how he will be utilised. That’s all well and good but the money isn’t right and the terms are clearly not agreed.

Hopefully this will be sorted out with Gautier Ott being off the radar at the moment.

Swans fans are thirsty for news, thanks for all the emails, what’s apps and calls, we are doing our best away from the mainstream media, and the club are definitely trying to block anything coming out of the club, which is commendable. Trouble is there’s always someone willing to talk or at least offer their personal opinion. They are always received gratefully.
