Swansea City Supporters Trust unhappy with ticket pricing for 2022/23 season Monday, 4th Jul 2022 07:19 by Keith Haynes Swansea City Supporters Trust ( SCST) have made it known to the upper echelons of the club that they unequivocally disagree with the new ticket pricing for general admission for the coming season. Speaking to this website David Dalton ( Trust Chair ) has stated that to a person none are in favour of this move. The main thrust of their argument to the club was the current economic climate and drop in standards of living for many people country wide. The SCST were aware of these price increases before they were made public. The rise to £35 for general adult admission (if you buy your ticket via the club shop by telephone) is indeed a high price to pay come next season. Our view here at Swansea Independent along with the majority of supporters is that families will most certainly cut their budgets as fuel, general heating bills and a dramatic rise in staple goods continues. The first thing people will do is cut back on entertainment. David Dalton has stated that ‘We explained to the club fully why we were against these prices. Although the revenue streams are down again this season we do understand that Swansea City have to minimise their shortfalls. It’s a tough balancing act. However, there must be opportunity for the trust to work alongside the club regards ticketing initiatives this season. The season ticket available to Swansea fans is in fact extremely competitive and the trust work with the club to keep these costs to a minimum. The trust can assure everyone they will continue to ask questions on matters such as this and will be providing updates on all matters affecting the fans this season.’ The SCST will meet tonight with this issue on the agenda.
