Swansea City v Burnley : Match day thread on 15:24 - Mar 15 by swan65split | its going to be a long afternoon, team looklike they expected a defeat before we started,......problem is we havent started, standing still. |
Eom like a headless chicken who can’t weight a pass to save his life. Also doesn’t position himself correctly for the return pass. Ronald needs to be binned. If we can offload him in July we should. If not, send him on loan. Too many hit and hope passes which are not reaching our players. Just trying to be clever. That second goal came about by a comedy of errors out on the far side. We got the ball then contrived to lose it three bloody times! Pathetic so far.

Eom, Key and Ronald can pack their bags as far as I'm concerned.

If there was VAR it probably wouldn’t have been given as it wouldn’t be enough to change the on field decision. However, it was a pen!

Swansea City v Burnley : Match day thread on 15:48 - Mar 15 with 1567 views | union_jack | A bold manager would make changes straight away in the second half. I’d replace Eom and Ronald, with the latter we are flogging a dead horse. Parker and Ginnelly? Do they have 45 mins in them at full tilt? Really we’ve got nothing to lose because this current XI wouldn’t score against Burnley if they were there until Christmas Day!

Swansea City v Burnley : Match day thread on 17:42 - Mar 15 with 1177 views | vetchonian | Worst I've seen us play all season worse than that Portsmouth defeat. We can't pass to each other not sure what we do in training. If anyone still thinks Sheehan should get the gig full time after watching that is deluded. Whilst the goals came from us giving away the ball Key for the first we had no clue and as for his subs.

Harsh but on the button. We just didn’t look like a team at times and if it’s not been noticed before (it has) we lack pace, strength and physicality. We are in the main a team of too many poor players.

Swansea City v Burnley : Match day thread on 19:09 - Mar 15 with 861 views | jack247 | Off day for Franco and O’Brien today. One of Francos worst games for us. Plus Key and Ronald were below par. A bit disappointed in Sheehan as well, especially first half. Ok, we don’t want any more Luke Williams football, but long diagonal balls to Eom, Ronald and Cullen as our main attacking tactic is a bit of a letdown. He’s done well so far, but he’s got to be better than that.
Swansea City v Burnley : Match day thread on 19:38 - Mar 15 with 769 views | lifelong | Very disappointing performance, the players simply didn’t look up for it, gave the ball away on endless occasions. Burnley were allowed to stroll through our midfield and could have easily scored 2 or 3 more, I can’t remember us having a shot on target.

Has he done well Cardiff beat Blackburn up there today....so that might put our win Sheehans first into perspective. His subs today bewildering Eom was far more effective than Ronald as was getting more into the game yet he took him off. As at Watford we were trailing yet brought Fulton on Vipotnik is a passenger he has ovw the last few games had service but just lacks something for me. He had a poor game today and a yes the ref was very lenient to them as they were all over our players yet he flew for fouls and even gave bookings when we had similar "infringements". Sheehan is not the man to take us forward I'm sorry

The yet again turmoil at the club doesn't help, no way can I see Darling signing a new contract, clubs a shambles.

Yes he has. We were on the worst run I can remember. Confidence was on the floor. 7 points from 5 games is a decent return with this squad. Vipotnik was better today than he was in 30 odd games under Williams. Still not brilliant I agree, but he was good against Blackburn and Middlesbrough and at least puts himself about and links play well now. For context I think Williams had 4 points from 10 games at one point. That being said, I do agree with your last sentence. I think he’s done a good job so far and will keep us up, but we need to set our sights higher if we are looking to progress. Playing the type of football he does, we’ll do well to be mid table over a season. It’s not new and it’s not inventive. It may be a change from what we’ve been used to, but it’s bog standard championship stuff.
Swansea City v Burnley : Match day thread on 20:36 - Mar 15 with 542 views | Treforys_Jack | I'll tell you who gets a free pass from supporters, Liam Cullen, he is simply anonymous yet never gets criticised. Eom is a far braver player, never hides always looking for the ball even when things aren't going his way. Ronald is poor and has been all season. It looks like we have another Fulton fan in Sheehan which is a worry for me.
Swansea City v Burnley : Match day thread on 20:36 - Mar 15 with 541 views | HoneyBadger | Swansea did have big periods of possession, especially in the second half. But they weren't direct and threatening enough. We lacked fight. We need a Brick Top type character amongst the coaching staff to turn the players into horrible c***s that the opposition really do not relish playing against.

Cullen has had a bit of a purple patch in front of goal this season but his all round game is woeful. Can't play as a lone striker, certainly no good as a #10. He's been indulged and accommodated by every manager from Martin onwards and delivered very little. To a degree Oli Cooper is the same. Just not good enough on a fundamental level. Both should be bench players at best. Eom needs to move into the #10 slot for the rest of the season with Ginelly or Bianchini taking over out wide. Fulton did OK when he came on, as he usually does. Damned by association with Grimes for me. Not a great player, but certainly better than he will ever be credited with in these parts. [Post edited 15 Mar 20:45]

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Agree with most of that. Key a liability too. League 1 player. Poor substitutions, I think Sheehan was happy to keep it at 2-0 rather than chase the game. Having said that, how on earth did Ronald miss that header. Did their keeper have a save to make? I don’t think he did

Burnley pressed us high up the pitch to start with and both goals came from unforced errors. They dropped back a bit then and let us have possession. Why wouldn’t they when we were playing long balls to players clearly ill equipped to cope with them. We were too direct in my opinion. Can’t play like that when Vipotnik is the only one who can compete for that type of ball.
