Portsmouth v Swansea City : Match day thread 18:10 - Dec 29 with 20341 viewsModeratorC

Pompey are near the foot of the table, the Swans are in ninth, but it’s the home teams form at home which is keeping them afloat. Thirteen points from the last possible fifteen is a warning to heed for the Swans. Sold out completely the Jack Army are on the move.

Happy New Year to each and every one of you who have religiously supported the Indy this past year, thank you from all of us here. Swansea City visit Portsmouth today for a 3pm kick off at Fratton Park. Early news points towards Franco not being available with a bad dental injury and Jay Fulton more than likely starting the game. 0

Honestly Luke do you really believe your PR ! Swans crash at Pompey 1st Jan 2025 19:13
If Swansea City could be any more unimaginative and weak in an away fixture this season it will signal that Luke Williams really hasn’t got the credentials to lead this Swansea team to anything other than complete mediocrity. The very fact he is being linked with West Bromwich Albion (it isn’t a rumour Luke, as you well know) tells us he has already lost heart in this Swansea side, and his reluctance to speak truthfully about it is an insult to Swansea fans. 0

Grimes dropped us in it at least 3 times yesterday because he kept coming too deep. That they only got one goal from his fannying was more by luck...

How can we drive forward when the man who gets more of the ball than anybody else is so often found between oiur centre backs? If he is our pivot, if he is the supplier, then how does he supply the attck when he's practically in the away end with the fans!

If we’re blaming Grimes for Christie stumbling over the ball then he’s got no chance.

Yes, I agree he was too deep quite often yesterday. I just said he was one of our better players on the day. He had a poor game by his own standards.

I'm not blaming Grimes for Christie, I'm blamimg Grimes for being too deep, for too many backwards passes and being between our centre backs and getting in the way.

Oh how I wish we could keep Allen fit for the season and have him and Franco in the middle, then we'd see an improvement. Grimes, he really is marmite, there's not much middle ground with him, it's love or hate.

Yeah I agree with the second paragraph. If there were people on here saying he was the next Leon Britton I’d be disagreeing with them too.

It does seem with Grimes that when he plays Ronald in like he did yesterday and in the build up to Cullens goal v QPR, it doesn’t get mentioned. He puts a foot wrong and he gets hammered for it.

He needs to ‘get in the way’ he’s far better on the ball than either centre back and they can’t split to take attackers out of the press without Grimes, or someone else doing that. We saw what can happen when we try to be more direct twice yesterday.

It’s not “hate”
However ,it’s a very fine line between love and hate

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not
