Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 14:29 - Nov 2 by felixstowe_jack | Great win our manager's tactics spot on. No doubt a few poster who want us to lose will still complain. |
Excellent, much needed win. Franco, Key and Grimes stand out performances.

Spot on?? Abdulai substitution on its own almost lost us the game, truly awful substitutions, completely handed domination to the opposition

Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 14:28 - Nov 2 by Fireboy2 | Our bench is weak that's why we usually struggle in the second half. It makes it worse when we have a couple of injuries to average players in eom and cooper. |
I’d argue Eom is above average FB.

For 88 minutes that was excellent against a side with a formidable record at that ground. It’s offered some hope going forward now. Especially as the pressure was on, that was good to watch. 👏🏻

It was . Not be honest and say you were rattled when they scored a late goal after we had subbed players who had been outstanding Williams proved ,TO ME,he is utterly wrong for us . We have the talent to be top six YET his ludicrous team management and tactics hold us back For the most part today,we were miles better, then he reverted to type and almost cost us the win. Three players brought on at once when no need. Branco is outstanding . The main man ,no question. Are you telling me he couldn’t have lasted ten mins longer ? Madness

Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 14:42 - Nov 2 with 1852 views | Dr_Winston | Today neatly demonstrated what some of us have been saying for a while. Tactical choices have been as much as, if not a bigger problem for us in recent games than the players. Injury forced Williams to do what he should have done ages ago. Franco did more in that advanced role in one game than Cooper has in weeks. More intelligent running, more intelligent passing, neatly topped off by that through ball for Bianchini. There is absolutely no reason why he couldn't have been doing that job sooner. We had other midfield options.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

It was an important win, why not celebrate it. We do not know why the manager continually substitutes Franco, we have 3 games in 8 days..possibly a fitness issue? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

What was surprising and encouraging was Joe Allen s performance . Quite why he was subbed when he was beats me ,as much as the other subs who didn’t help at all. That was much better and it shows ,to me anyway, how much the coach is responsible . I would like Branco to get a goal though .

Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 14:31 - Nov 2 by Fireboy2 | Weak bench nanty. Shame as a couple of decent championship players on the bench would keep the intensity up, wd would have at least 4 points or even more if we did. Still we would have taken this result at the start of the game. |
Three game week again mate,we try to negotiate it but with a weak squad it's not easy.

Swim is always good but we have to be realistic and honest Tiday,we were by far the better team BUT again ended up hanging on mainly due to ludicrous subs I honestly believe this coach is holding us back. We saw today what can happen if VIP gets a decent flow of chances . It’s a very very tight league

Franco picked up a knock in last weeks game and had limited training this week.

Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 15:45 - Nov 2 with 1408 views | EagleEye | Good performance, well deserved win. Some poor defending but we got away with it (as did they), poor substitutions maybe, weak squad depth definitely. If we had got what we deserved last week we would be sitting pretty.

Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 19:00 - Nov 2 with 880 views | swan65split | Happy with the win and the performance, despite a few hic ups everyone gave their all, also very pleased for the fans, some of whom I know had a fantastic day and big shout out to the players old and present plus the manager for taking some time to make a young lad happy. as to the subs, we have a thin squad , 3 games this week and probably cant afford any more top absentees. please sort out the last 10 mins boys , COYS.
Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 07:41 - Nov 3 with 437 views | Swans9 | We can't look ahead to other games. So many games this season late on we make changes and concede. Bristol city for example as soon as Franco went off it was carnage. As if the opposition think oh we haven't touched the ball for 60 minutes and now they taking championship players off and not replacing them. Unless the youngsters step up the bench and the first 11 needs quality signings in Jan. Well done to all players and manager and fans was a great win though and massively needed.
