How can you expect any kind on momentum when the player all your play goes through is sitting between the backs.
If you are expecting Grimes to sit deep because we are away from home surely Cooper cannot help Cullen in the high press it leaves a big gap in the midfield that Franco has to deal with, unless either the wingers tuck, it was pitiful to see us trying to press on our right hand side the opposition were just running rings around us, very bad execution of a playing style thankfully our back three, Cabango, Darling and Vigouroux are rising to the task not much can be said of the others, two of them could be gone in January.

I might have said this myself,a million times
There is no need for our perfectly functioning centre three backs to have the captain literally running back to take the ball from them and roll it out to Tymon who then strokes it back. None
This is basic.
Frankly, one can forget anything that Williams does at work because this ridiculous tactic is proven to be simply stupidity

Grimes can play but ,for me,he should never ever be in our own box . Ever .

And the deal he got was equally stupid as we could have had much better .People ask why all our coaches of Kate play him all the time.Good question, but we are talking Potter (now nowhere) Cooper ( two failed playoffs ) and the current Soton one .

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

The first few seconds of the Blackburn game set out in my mind how it was going to go (though admittedly it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be).

The ball from KO was passed back to Cabango who put his foot on it and did nothing for a good 5-10 seconds. I think he then passed it to Darling.

I have a friend, who in the good old days of rugby teams running onto the field could tell if they were up for it.p by the aggression in their run. He was seldom wrong.

The way you start can determine the game’s pattern.

Going back to the title topic, I made the effort to watch the last 20 minutes of the full match replay i.e. the period Zan came on.

It's hard to see his full contribution from the TV perspective, but I made sure every time he was in shot I ignored everything else. I have to say, I come away a bit more positive about his potential and noticed things not evident before.

The main criticism levelled at him is his inability to get away from his marker, but on 73.45 mins, 78.52 mins and 83.29 mins I noted first a good curving run to get goal side of his marker, second after Key won the ball back well Zan waves to Tymon then darts really nicely across his marker only for the cross to float way over his head, then thirdly he attacked a low attempted Ronald cross, again getting in front of his marker (unfortunately the cross was blocked).

He also had a decent shout for a penalty on 93.40 using his strength to get in front of his man and appearing to be hauled over backwards.

He also pressed hard and seemed fitter overall. My main negative was he didn't drop off at all to try and link play but I imagine that was on instruction and Peart-Harris was the man to play the 10 role (ineffectually again I would say).

This all may be clutching at straws, but I feel it is only fair to highlight the positives when I see them, even if they may be considered the very basics for any striker at this level. At least he is displaying these basics now, when he wasn't previously.

The challenge now for LW is to get the rest of the team to take advantage of these moments and try and actually get the ball to Vipotnik more accurately.

The drop in attendances has nothing to do with fans (in every town and city) who support other teams. Swansea isn’t any different to Cardiff. I posted you an actual stat of the many who travel from Newcastle to Liverpool and Man Utd, the thing is once you have a team, most generally stick to them for life, no matter where you live.

The issue at Swansea is the product, the results and the expense. Simple as that.

It’s just as cheap to travel from Swansea by supporters coach with any of the supporters clubs there who follow premier league teams.

When Phil and I ran the MAGS we had a close to 300 membership. We took at times two coaches to certain games, and we were in the bottom league then at times. The club hasn’t got the foresight, organisational skills nor the desire to ingratiate new supporters regardless of where they live.

Sending Lee along to schools locally isn’t going to work unless there’s a follow up and system to keep up the interest. I know one guy who took advantage of the ticket offe the other week, since then he hasn’t heard a thing.

There was a guy, a friend of mine, who ran soccer schools for the Swans in Mid Wales and further afield, up until about 6 years ago. It paid for itself, he said they would have made money out of every session.
By doing this there was usually a bus full of those kids to a game a few times a season.
More income, and more importantly, more kids with Swans shirts on their backs.
The club decided to stop it, so my mate left the club.

A stupid decision. They have done that in many locations.
Unless the club do goings to draw supporters in, they won come.
The whole marketing of the club is a complete and utter shambles.

Like my forward dropping off and then the No 10 or wingers going beyond the centre forward, is this what is being asked of the players, the only player with a bit of pace to do it effectively from so deep would be Ronald but we don't seem set up or willing to do it by the time we do pass the ball forward there is very little room in behind, Cabango played a couple of nice passes early into dangerous areas for the advancing player but they are few are few and far between and rarely seen executed well even by Grimes who usually over hits them.

Well,it’s pretty obvious really.
You don’t need to be there either
Cost cutting ,preparation for sale etc, maybe but this crap is something that Williams IS responsible for
He is being excused purely because if what is going on behind
Fair enough but don’t instruct Grimes to okay as he is

If you read my comments ,you will see I agree with that which you have just scribed
Fans have been insulted by our owners and conditioned to accept less
Wrexham are an example of momentum, which we have lost

You have forgotten that the fans until recently weird lining up UK lawyers to take the owners to court and burden them with huge legal fees and resolutions. They had to give them £500k which the club will never see. That is a lot of murals and gates.

Great to read that. I didn’t see it when streaming, but I don’t pick up as much off the ball as I do when watching live.

Williams knows he has a job to do and is at least not complaining. The club should work hard with Vipotnik and not be tempted to treat him like Borja Baston. He wanted to go home and the club let him and he never found the form he had before Swansea signed him. He is the clubs responsibility and there should be no buck passing.

Williams said he was happy with his striking options when talking about Jamal Lowe who was a free transfer.

"But you can’t have everything and we are happy with the squad we have, and we are also really happy that Jamal has a club and is playing regular football.

“Not everything is perfect in life, but I think in the end it was a good solution for both sides.”

This is it. Anyone hoping for Cullen and Vipotnik (which may actually suit both of them) is going to be disappointed because the squad is way too thin for Williams to try it.

Maybe if we promote Wilson or bring a striker in January. The latter is obviously unlikely.

Wilson is the only real option but hasn't been included in the squad through injury then illness, surely now is the time. Peart-Harris has been tried and he was useless.

I haven't seen anything of the Blackburn game, but the times I have seen Peart-Harris I'm not really sure what to make of him, probably needs to start a few games and get 70mins plus under his belt.
