The draw was fixed - Totally corrupt. 23:12 - Aug 28 with 2909 views | Southamptonfan | It was impossible for the top teams to play each other and 4 of them knew they were playing at home before the draw. All something to do with arranging dates for playing in Europe. So the top 6 all play lesser teams, fixed in advance. All the other teams, have no such arrangements to be at home or to be drawn against a lesser team. There should be outrage about this. [Post edited 28 Aug 23:13]

The excuse is to help those top 6 clubs with fixture congestion and dates for their European ties. But it's rigged, totally and utterly if they avoid each other. [Post edited 29 Aug 0:10]

The draw was fixed - Totally corrupt. on 00:28 - Aug 29 with 2738 views | LondonSaint76 | It’s total bulldroppings, the excuses they are making for doing this make no sense. FIFA ,then UEFA, then the FA set their International / National schedules way on excess of 12 months in advance. For example, UEFA will already have the date of the 2026 CL final scheduled and diarised, in fact, just looked it up, it is on 30th May 2026 in the Puskas Arena in Budapest. All the previous rounds / dates are similarly diarised that far in advance so the cartel are fully aware of their European commitments / dates for this season and next season as well assuming they qualify. The real reason is the Football League are petrified that the top six / eight clubs will withdraw from their competition so they are bending over backwards, and then some, to keep them sweet so they don’t follow through with the veiled threats to abandon the competition because if one goes the rest will follow. Closest to date is Liverpool after the Football League refused to budge on the date of a League Cup game when Liverpool were away at the World Club Championsip or playing in the Super Cup Final (can’t remember which) and they ended up playing Villa at Anfield with basically a third team. The veiled threat has been there ever since so the FL now let the cartel roll over and tickle their tummies. New draw rules started this season. VERY low profile launch to this, kept it as quiet as they could for as long as they could but now it is dawning on everyone everywhere. I can imagine similar conversations taking place on dozens and dozens of fan sites as everyone else has now realised they too have been shafted, royally. Bloody stinks.

Blatant, in your face fixing. The powers that be know they can get away with pretty much anything these days, even messing around with our beloved game.
| I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it. |

It’s disgusting, why the phuck did the other clubs agree to this? They’ve got their way having more CL games meaning more revenue for the greedy scumbags and now they are rigging the draws of the domestic competitions, after binning off the replays in the cup. Fans need to stand up to this.
The draw was fixed - Totally corrupt. on 07:39 - Aug 29 with 2301 views | wibbersda | This is unbelievably corrupt. If its a problem for the tosser clubs then they should just field their second team or fo.
The draw was fixed - Totally corrupt. on 07:46 - Aug 29 with 2273 views | Chesham_Saint | Utterly wrong. When will these greedy gimps realize that they are supposed to be mere custodians of the game? This not only devalues the competition, it rocks it to its foundations. The sooner the so-called 'Big 6' fvck off to a Euro/USA/Malaysia league the better. And they can take their plastic, glory hunting toss-pot fans with them. Almost nothing boils my piss more in football than the radio caller "Big Man U/Liverpool" fan with a southern accent. Or yet another "celeb" vvanker conveniently being a "Red" - Ollie Murs being a prime example.

There seems to be so much opposition to this nationwide that a boycott of the EFL Cup and Carabao might well be possible. As it's about money, if their main sponsor tells them to stop doing this, then they'll have to.

It’s a cup ffs. Name goes in the hat and gets drawn out. This now favours the big teams and has totally devalued the competition. What’s next ? The EFL and the FA should be ashamed.

It might not be our highest value competition, but it's the concept of structuring it to contrive an advantage for some already ridiculously wealthy and over-privileged clubs over others. How can you not see that? Or do you favour a class system?

The draw was fixed - Totally corrupt. on 09:06 - Aug 29 with 1979 views | kingslandstand1 | 100% agree with everything that's been saidas fellas heard on the radio about this massive fiddle to satisfy the sponsors and fuk the "little" clubs, but is it a bit like tennis where everybody is seeded such that you know generally who the quartering semi finalists are likely to be? Don't get me wrong, it goes totally against the grain and I'm sure there are loads of arguments each way, but just something to chew over

Of course, little Pompey got knocked out in the first round so have no real interest in it, but for those who are still in it, the fixed draw, means having to beat more than one of the top teams along the way, and it means they can't eliminate each other in the next round. So, it makes a big difference.

The draw was fixed - Totally corrupt. on 13:43 - Aug 29 with 1624 views | DorsetIan | If it’s so tricky for these top 6 teams, why don’t they just f*ck off out of this completion completely. Ridiculous that 4 of them should have guaranteed home draws. The football decision makers never fail to @rse things up.

The draw was fixed - Totally corrupt. on 16:25 - Aug 29 with 1488 views | areasix | They have big squads play a second team they would most probably still win. I cant understand why this format has been agreed apart from MONEY as its 144 games to eliminate 12 teams!!! in the first rd what a waste of time.
