Appreciate last season Russell but simply not good enough at this level. This insistence on playing out from the back and picking Jack Stephens is beyond belief. He obviously isn’t going to change so it will become a question of when not if he is sacked.
Replacements I guess available would be Potter or Moyes ? Anyone else ?
What a pile of shite.I know there’s a lot more we don’t see on the TV but it seems the Beeb have sent every spiky haired feckwit there to tell us how great it is. I’ve seen some top bands there going way back but it now seems like a tame extension of X factor. With the dirge that is Cold Play to look forward to it seems rock n roll is finally dead.
Thinking about who should be honoured with a statue or stand name would love to see one for Ron Davies. I don’t think I ever saw a better header of the ball and in his day he was profilic. Terry Paine crossing one over for Ron to head home remains a boyhood memory. Anyone else ? Le Tiss of course.
We went on an amazing unbeaten run and looked like we could get automatic promotion but now look a shadow of that team. Would suggest change is down to.
1. Trying to accommodate Stephens into a settled back four. It’s no coincidence that since he returned the defence has looked poor. This has exposed Bazunu whose confidence looks shot. 2. RM is a one trick pony. We have been found out by opposing teams. 3. I don’t think the players are fit enough. It’s why we concede so many late goals. 4. Lack of leadership / experience. We should have brought in one or two old heads who can direct things in the centre of the park.
Last night there were a few occasions when the playing out from the back looked great. Equally there were the same occasions when we gave the ball away in dangerous areas. We were playing Liverpool’s youth team. If we did this against better finishers we would have got absolutely hammered. RM needs to realise we are not Man C and do not have world class players across the pitch. It will cost us and if we go up there is no way we can play like this. Pundits are all saying it’s admirable in its aspirations but is a high risk strategy that will ultimately cost us.
Nothing against our cousins across the pond (apart from the orange nut job) but I really don’t get American football. Seems it’s getting more popular over here though.
I see our PM was at St Mary’s yesterday. Probably trying to avoid any tricky questions about how the feck does Liz Truss get to award people honours after 49 days of abject failure. And if you want to know how the honours system works and insults the real heroes who deserve recognition then Google the name Charlotte Owen. Careful though there is a super injunction stopping any questions being asked about why a 29 year old who has done nothing was given a life peerage. She does remind me of someone though. Can’t think who.
Watching the Everton Man Utd game and all the home fans are holding up cards protesting against the points deduction. Surely it’s the board they should be aiming the protest at. They broke the rules and got the club in such a mess.
Sorry but the buck stops with the manager. With this squad there is no way we should be putting in a performance like that. The first goal was school kid stuff. Unless the players ignored his instructions it seems defending is not something he likes to do. With the players available setting up a team that defends well and can attack at the same time should be relatively straightforward. Second time in 5 games we have conceded 4 goals. All points to RM I’m afraid.
