Richard III "Over My Dead Body" Leicester Vs QPR Match Thread 08:50 - Feb 26 with 64982 viewsSpaceman_P

In the spirit of non-losses in the match-thread stakes, I will start this.

Hopefully we will make Red Leicester flavoured Walkers Crisps out of Leicester City FC

I am going for a 1 - nil win for us. I think the players will turn up and the game will be tight.

Going for a Chair goal, a long range effort with a deflection.... they will press us like mad, but we will fluke this win and continue Leicester's shitty form to 3 loses.

If we lose, I will gladly down tools for match threads for the rest of the season.

Fingers crossed!!!

Paul

I'll do my usual early betting odds post.

Leicester 1.30 or 3/10
Draw 4.75 15/4
Rangers 8.00 or 7/1

3-1

It’ll go 2-0 us - 1st will be Field, 2nd will be Armstrong - they pull one back, and then we grab another - Willock with another beauty.

I find it amazing & I'm as guilty as anyone else!

Two weeks ago not many of us would have considered it possible that we had a chance of a point at Leicester. And now we're thinking about winning!

Let us remember that IF we lose that won't condemn us to relegation!

Its as if the Gods of football knew El Tel and Stan were to leave us, so they sent us Spaceman to soften the blow.

The guy's a 'kin legend and he's never kicked a ball for the Rangers. He's that good, he doesn't need to!

Hard to call, they are a good team and it depends which Rangers shows up.

I can't see us beating Leicester unfortunately. We're on a good run and they definitely wont underestimate us. The optimist in me says 2-2.

Jannik Vestergaard picked up a 10th yellow against Leeds and will miss two games. That's a positive.

We’re unlikely to be able to put Cook and Frey through three games in a week.

Over 4 days between this and the WBA game, less than 3 between WBA and Boro, yet you’d like to field your strongest side in the two home games. That’s a tough call.

Spaceman, I thought you might have taken a break, as per Joolsy P's advice, but fair play, you've taken it on the chin.

So, re. your thread title: I can just imagine Marti in the dressing room, pre-match:

Listen lads, now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of Leicester,
And all the clouds that lour'd upon Loftus Road,
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried!

Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths;
Our bruised arms hung up for monuments;
Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings,
Our dreadful marches to delightful measures.

But that's exactly the moment we should not complacent get.
Just because we beat the Millers
Does not mean a fig to the vast array
Of Premiership ponces that do Leicester's squad adorn.

So stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
And let's beat the bastards!

COME ON URRRRRRRRRRssssss!

Or something like that.

(And apologies for mangling Richard III with Henry V.)

Really think Cook is our most important player, he will play against Leicester, more options up front to shock and awe. Sadly can’t see anything but a defeat, but we will make a good fist of it.

It'll be interesting to see how their cup game against Bournemouth goes on Tuesday. Lose that and it'll be 3 defeats in a row for them. If we can make a good start their fans may turn against them.

Sorry I know we play well against the better teams but Leicester away, sorry "Bob Hope and" is the phrase that comes to mind

I think we may get one goal although I am tending to think they will get three so either 3 nil to them or a last minute consolation by Willock in a 3 - 1 reverse.

A draw would be incredible but I can't see it happening.

If it were Leeds in their current form, sure, couldn't see us getting anything from that. But Leicester have lost their last two home games and our form over the last eight games is better than theirs, so I don't think a good result is that far fetched.

I have kicked a ball at Loftus Road when I was a kid.... was a summer camp we got to do penalties, I can officially say I scored at the loft end.
