Richard III "Over My Dead Body" Leicester Vs QPR Match Thread 08:50 - Feb 26 with 63504 viewsSpaceman_P

In the spirit of non-losses in the match-thread stakes, I will start this.

Hopefully we will make Red Leicester flavoured Walkers Crisps out of Leicester City FC

I am going for a 1 - nil win for us. I think the players will turn up and the game will be tight.

Going for a Chair goal, a long range effort with a deflection.... they will press us like mad, but we will fluke this win and continue Leicester's shitty form to 3 loses.

If we lose, I will gladly down tools for match threads for the rest of the season.

Fingers crossed!!!

Paul

Thought Begovic did quite well to save the FK in the first place, that ball had a fair pace on it.

This. It also moved a lot in the air late and back in towards him so he'd dived beyond the direction of the ball and had to pull his hands back in to block the shot..

Great team performance from all involved. Marti and Co. have got us really well organised off the ball and dangerous on it. Great play from Willock, Dykes and Chair for the 1st goal, and a rocket net exploder from Armstrong for the 2nd. Only thing I wondered about was Andersen's substitution as he'd been excellent, especially his ball winning. I guess it was because he had the yellow card, for what I wasn't sure, and maybe he wasn't up for 90 minutes though he looked fine from the stream.

Dykes definitely onside for the first, sprang the offside trap brilliantly. In the stadium I thought he'd just screwed a shot up as I didn't see Chair until the ball came across and he was suddenly there to tap it in.

Bit harsh to criticise Begovic, I think defensively we just didn't react quick enough to the rebound. The ball had a lot of pace on it.

I was sitting in that away end last time we played there and got dicked 5-1 in that final game of 2014/15 when they were raucous from their great escape the year before they won the league and it felt like every man and his dog were running riot at us that day. That's been my last memory of seeing QPR in my home city - I've been waiting 9 years for us to go back and we go and do that! In some respects I wouldnt mind it if we don't play for them for 10 years again now, keeps my bragging rights a bit longer!

The last time I was there, before yesterday, was for the Nygaard spectacular. Yesterdays experience was slightly better..

Incredible result which I really did not see coming. What's mental is that without the two most recent away wins, we'd be six points adrift. I've never known the relegation scrap to be this open - with 11/12 matches left, the team in 10th (Sunderland) are only nine points clear of the drop.

Amazing day!!!
First visit for me.
I really liked the ground and matchday experience apart from the 20,000 stewards busying around for 110 minutes up and down gangways.

So this weeks boo boy (despite one of the best results of the season) is our goalkeeper - Whom according to the stats, of their 5 on target shots, 4 were saved, not blocked or anything else - Saved.

Only QPR fans - Would be nice if for once no one in the team was criticised - Cut them all some slack for today and enjoy the best result of our season so far

Rubbish mate - I don't care what the stats say, all the outfield players were magnificent. And their great work nearly undone by the ageing, fat, Chelsea mercenary and his flapping.

He had one straightforward save to make all game and he messed it up. Can't we criticise that? I am sure he will be on the radio first thing Monday giving in depth analysis of his boys' 2-2 draw at Brentford and not giving a tinker's cuss about his error for the team he captains.

Cook - totally magnificent all game - saw fit to have a go at him, as the poster above said.

He's a liability and will cost us again before the end of the season.

It was truly appalling goalkeeping and he did a similar thing against Rotherham too. On the positive side, only 11 games left with him in goal...

Some very nice goals in the Birmingham v Southampton match. Adam Armstrong's was reminiscent of the famous Gerry Francis goal v Liverpool. Not as good obviously.

Stanfield's finish high-ay-ay-ay into the net was very good too!

Noticed Joe Walsh not Archer on the bench yesterday . I do wonder if they will start to bring Walsh into the match day squad in preparation for next season.

Hesitant to be too willing to see the back of him as we don’t know who will be in goal next season and it could be worse.
I just thought a goalkeeper of his experience should be dealing with that so much better . Didn’t really want to criticise after such a great result but if we didn’t leave with the 3 points yesterday then he’d be justifiably given pelters for that. It might have moved but it wasn’t hit with much venom .
Basic for any decent keeper . Personally thought he did ‘one for the cameras’ and got it horribly wrong .
