Blackpool v Swansea City : Matchday Thread 21/22 02:59 - Mar 9 with 11197 viewsNotLoyal

Swansea welcome back players for their Blackpool trip this weekend 9th Mar 2022 22:39
Despite ( as it stands ) the omission of Ryan Manning after his sending off on Tuesday night the swans will have two players returning to the fold for the trip to Blackpool on Saturday. Approximately 1,650 Swansea City fans are expected to be in attendance with Russell Martin once again finding himself in recovery mode after yet another heavy defeat. 0

That old Blackpool magic that Russell Martin and Swansea City need to find 11th Mar 2022 09:00
Russell Martin leads his side north to Blackpool today for another Sky Bet Championship league game. Having put their away day complex to one side against West Bromwich Albion last time out the swans now have a different type of challenge at Bloomfield Road tomorrow. 0

Good and bad news for Russell Martin before Blackpool away 11th Mar 2022 13:46
Proving once again he’s a hard man to read, an d that’s putting it mildly Russell Martin has revealed this morning that Nathanael Ogbeta will be in the squad for tomorrow’s game at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool. However, his inclusion looks like it’s merely about gaining some experience of being in a match day squad, so the best he can hope for is a sub appearance. 0

Swansea City sleep walk their way to another defeat at Blackpool 12th Mar 2022 17:29
A traditional start for Swansea City resulted in an early Gary Madine goal for Blackpool after some blatant fouling in the swans penalty area. Such is the luck of the swans at present the referee decided to ignore the infringements which freed up Madine to head home. The real issue for the swans in that defensive passage was once again their lack of awareness and concentration. Again sleeping when they should have been really alert. 0

Russell Martin accused by Blackpool Gazette : You are bizarre ‘Comments examined’ 13th Mar 2022 10:58
Was Russell Martin watching the same game as the majority yesterday ? Some of the reports on his comments and beliefs after the game have been laughed at by journalists reporting on yesterday’s loss to Blackpool. 0

Nothing has changed during the half time then, Blackpool could and probably should be 3 up.
This is embarrassing.
Drag Smith off now! Give Ogbeta (an actual LB) a chance.

Can anyone tell me why we change back to a system we know doesn’t work when we have got such clear joy playing another way?

On course for another 700 pass, 6% long and 75% possession game it looks like.

Blackpool have pressed from the first min, we are unable to bypass it.

That’s why we should go direct.

We never bypass a press with short passing, that’s why they are pressing.

Short passing at the back means we are inviting the opponent to press.

Ntcham is so much better in the middle. He’s been completely anonymous stuck out on the wing.

Got to gamble more around their box. If there's a chance to cross it in, do not faaaking pass it backwards.

Ntcham doesn't look a 90mins player, been very sloppy today.

Such an ugly way of playing though. Essentially knocking at around aimlessly until they get tired in the hope we can peg them back late.

So negative.

Blackpool had been sharper this could have been another 4 or 5 against us.

We keep playing through balls too close to their Keeper, forgetting that other keepers actually come off their line when a ball is played in.

Annoyed about the performance with all the fans there tbh. Look we went away in the late 70's/80's and we never got worked up about it. It was a trip. You take it or leave it....
But it seems different now...fairly upset by that performance.

Martin is so naive, you can't get away with the way we have set up this season. Just today, Smith at Left back, Naughton playing CB in a 2, Ntcham playing out off the right.
The league is so poor this year and we have been even worse, continually losing to these poor teams.

76% possession, 1 shot on target. Surely the powers that be look at that.

All teams have to do is line up in two banks of four and line up in front of us. No guile in midfield to break them down . One shot on target. Awful.
