Russell Martin... Take a bow. on 14:25 - Oct 21 by magicdaps10 | The plan on day 1 with Martin was to get the team playing as it is today, was never going to happen overnight nor was the style going to happen straight away. Its bordering on morale high ground that they were correct to call him out at the start when he hadn't even had the time to implement the style he was aiming... Fast forward now and it's been spun that Martin has now adapted his style rather than those posters admit that they were wrong to be impatient at such an early stage. I congratulate the one or two have said that they were wrong and have since been Suprised. I can't stress how often myself and others said that they have to give him time and be patient and it's clear that we are seeing the work come to fruition and those who argued are now clearly twisting it as they now see the plan coming together. You need to walk before you can run so the passing had to be implemented first and then the other aspects added from there. The plan is to dominate possession and pass the ball around the opposition with our fitness being as best it can be to clearly take advantage as the game goes on.... Be that final pass short or even long, was all part of the plan that Martin had the first day he set foot in the club... Its a shame that many were not open minded enough or even patient enough to realise this early on. Give him time and be patient were the words.... Seems the ones who were told this now realise without wanting to be honest with themselves can now see the work coming together. Keep it going Russell Martin as even these posters are coming on side even if they admit it or not. Russell Martin's barmy army 💪 |
DrP doesn't think like myself and obviously you, he s all about data and stats and that's great, whatever floats your boat. I saw a documentary recently about Roberto and Belgium, the stats gathered were astounding and if I'm honest a little depressing. It was far too clinical and sterile. Not sure where a Lee Trundle would fit into the new way of doing things. DrP wants us to do well and wants to prove why we are, AC on the other hand seems a little annoyed RM appears to be turning things around.

Russell Martin... Take a bow. on 16:27 - Oct 21 by magicdaps10 | Until he shows some proof on such a damning allegation then he needs to shut up. If he is going to play games like this then he needs to back them up otherwise the finger is pointed at this site for spreading rumours. |
He has collected data and using a limited data bank come up with dubious conclusions. The 4% long ball takes no account of the opposition. There is no point in playing long ball if the opposition are 'parking the bus' like Hull city for example. Swansea do not have Kieffer Morre in the roster. Walsh benefits a short passing game far more than Grimes or Downes but they are the ones picked. Piroe it seems did have some sort of issue at the start of the season but surely cannot complain. He has gone from a 1 goal in 10 (3 league goals in 29 games) to a one goal in less than 2 games. Patterson is also flying. He has never scored more than 6 and has 5 goals already. I hope Whittaker, Obafemi and Cullen are listening to the boss as his system is good for forward players with talent. Like McBurney and Potter. OMcB has done nothing for anybody else. If Brighton put a cheeky bid in of £5m it might be enough if the player has not completely lost focus.

I like the word. I have never been to the US or any of the Americas and I do not know any Americans. I carry no prejudices against American owners. What is it in English. Register? Roll call. I do not see them as asset strippers, quick flip merchants, hedge fund types etc. They were offski as soon as the parachutes were over to some. These are the fake narratives that convinced some Trust members to vote for legal action. This was effectively suggesting the ship hull was holed and telling people to run for the lifeboat women and children first. The welders have been out and the ship is on a new tack. If the 'passengers' want to disembark they can. New scare stories now abound to keep the members on side.

Most normal people call it a squad.... Wrong again, those were things that people were saying. Doesn't mean that it had any bearing on how some trust members voted. They are still here, the parachute money has gone, yet amongst trust members there's still the appetite to see the vote through. So that claim has no basis. But you don't care, this has been explained to repeatedly but you choose to ignore it. What are these new stories that you speak then????

The sale was over 5 years ago. The membership is not the same. The SCST reported up to 350 new members earlier in the year. How do you know there is still the appetite for the current course of action.? The SCST promotes the idea that they will be worse off unless they sell up at 2016 prices minus huge costs. I believe the future is bright.

Social media is open to every trust member as are forums such as this. That's without the actual trust forums and routes for members to contact the trust board the raise issues. The only things ever raised regarding the case are the speed at which it's progressing. Ie the members want it done. There'd be a mutiny if there were another vote. Very desperate attempt this again Resloven fair play Where have they promoted that? Or have you made that up? Although currently, the trust are worse off. By quite a bit. Huge costs? The out going chairman quoted the costs as being very large. Legal costs traditionally have been very high. The actual figures seem to be unknown to members or they are not saying. I believe if the costs were published and presented member would have second thoughts. The SCST have promoted the ideal that their holding could be reduced to zero and they need to protect themselves. The club is a business and every business is vulnerable to mismanagement and bankruptcy. This was the case in 2002 when they bought shares but is considerably less likely now. The future is bright for Swansea city and all its shareholders, Welsh and American.

An independent QC stated the trust had s strong case. And if won, it's fairly likely that these legal costs you speak would be paid for by the losers. Is it not 'traditional' that the losers are told to pay the costs? Well technically they could get diluted down to a small amount. I agree not zero, but the point stands. So yes they should protect themselves. Not sure of the relevance of your last few sentences. If anything it's a reason for the trust trying to cash in. Debatable as to how the futures bright for all shareholders. Some could be diluted and the value of their holding lowered even further than what it was worth when the sale occurred. Not sure how that could really be considered 'bright'.

Dilution is not an issue in my opinion. All owners have an obligation to help the club in a time of crisis and the US owners and the stadium sponsors have came to the support of the club. All institutions need investment simply for general maintenance like painting the stadium steel work and relaying the pitch. .

Well there's absolutely no evidence that dilution is required for the pitch to get relaid (should have been insured anyway) or for maintenance to be carried out (which by the way is now an obligation of the football club since the majority owners decided to take on that responsibility and lost a subsequent court case regarding it). So none of what you've described in any invalidates any rightful claim for any shareholder to protect their holding. And anyway the American majority shareholders obviously do not agree with your point regarding this obligation that all the owners apparently possess to 'invest' otherwise they'd have approached all of theIr fellow owners to request that investment. Instead they instantly went to an outsider who lent the club money with interest. That was over a year ago now and no conversion has yet occurred, sorry that point doesn't stack up.

A link? Martin has said they players played not to his instructions and has since said both Pato and Piroe were not on board with the way he wanted to play. I would imagine they weren’t the only two, it was a ludicrous way to play. Since then there seems to be some sort of compromise and we are playing far more sensibly. More akin to what we wanted him to play at the start, hence the criticism, and hence why he is now getting praise.

Russell Martin... Take a bow. on 15:29 - Oct 21 by 34dfgdf54 | Other way round, Piroe was told in no uncertain terms his workrate had to improve hence him not featuring at the start of Martin's reign. << “He’s a really honest person so it’s really nice. You know what you have with him and he will say what he thinks about you, what he thinks is best for the team. “I have a feeling that he really gives the team confidence, so that’s why I think we can play the way we play.” >> This is headed up by Martin and his coaching staff, Kory Smith said in his pre game media duties, Piroe is saying it, and Martin is saying it. The players are buying into it, big time. You carry on telling yourself that the players are running the show here though. |
That’s nonsense though isn’t it, Martin had only just arrived and he hadn’t played a single game. There was clearly far more to it. You don’t send someone home, strip them of the 9 jersey and as a result them having to train with their father on the beach alone after a week. Just doesn’t happen. I didn’t say the players are running the show. I said there has clearly been a compromise, a compromise which everyone has bought into. Martin’s way when he first arrived was just ridiculous and I don’t blame the players for reacting in the same way that many of us that know the game did. Utterly ludicrous.

The Swans will also use similar data, which is probably why we have moved away from the way we were playing. Within this black ‘Catapult’ under garment is housed a GPS tracker which data is stored and collected after every game. https://i.ibb.co/qCTGfpk/E6402-CED-FF90-41-A5-A837-6558-C25-FF3-BF.webp (Why the picture isn’t displaying I don’t know, but just click on the link). You keep saying that but not once have you answered which conclusion you disagree with, and most importantly - why? Sadly you don’t understand data, which is why you declare war on it, just like you did with odds. Also why you thought you could get away with giving Martin a 10 point head start without me noticing. If you understood data and statistics then you would know before you pressed send that I would be suggesting we use points per game as a a comparisons - which of course you predictably ran away from. 4% long balls doesn’t need to take note of opposition. I will say it again, we will never see 4% long balls again under Martin, never. And we have seen it multiple times so far. Think I’m wrong? Anyone brave enough to answer that?

He was left out of squad, and was having a kick about on the beach with his dad, as I'm sure many people do who are lucky enough to live there. He was not "training". Martin's way when he arrived, Martin's way now, just improvement from top quality coaching is what we are seeing so far. [Post edited 22 Oct 2021 7:42]

Russell Martin... Take a bow. on 07:45 - Oct 22 by Dr_Parnassus | Left out of the squad, sent home, had the number 9 taken off him and Martin yesterday said he used to have a big ego. I seem to remember at the time you running back and fore between forums saying how all was not well between them ....We'll forget about that though. I am glad the squad and management team have dropped the old way and pushed forward with a more sustainable and sensible game plan. Well done to all. |
Of course it wasn't well. Martin wasn't happy with his work rate and attitude and left him out of squad. Funnily enough someone just posted direct quotes from Martin over what happened. <<On Joel Piroe, Russell Martin was very honest “ When I first came here I saw someone who was worried, he had just signed and the manager had gone, he was exceptionally worried to be honest, but I saw nothing in him that told me he wanted to play. From there we had a talk and he knuckled down, that first week though he was lost. He is now willing to learn, buys in to what we are doing, and is reaping the rewards, everyone can see that now, and so can he” >> Martin's way. No compromise, no player power, just delusions of a fan who has got it all wrong, again.

So there was clearly a rift then, as I said. Martin isn't going to come out and spill the beans, quotes from him are useless, same as quotes from Joel would be. You know I am spot on with this yet again. You are welcome to join in with the 4% challenge, just a single game is all that is needed.... didn't think so. Off you pop again then
