Previous encounters don’t really matter as does the result, getting the first team in to match fitness is the goal. However the last time the clubs met the swans knocked Plymouth of the Football League Trophy in November 2016. The score was 2-0. Competitively in the league the last meeting was a 1-1 away draw at Home Park in 2010.
As it stands we assume away fans will be allowed at the game as Welsh sides have taken supporters to games in England in recent days, as of July 19th this is confirmed.
So, What is a Plymouth ? The city itself is near Brighton and not far from Portsmouth or Southampton, sometimes Weymouth. Plymouth has a hoe, but most of the time she isn’t working these days due to Covid and the fact she is worn out. From a male perspective other hoes are available.

In 1979 Swansea City appeared for the first time on Match of the day. The game was at Home Park and the result was 2-2. The Swansea support behind the goal that day was amazing as the second goal was scored by John Toshack.
Swansea City: Geoff Crudgington, Wyndham Evans, Danny Bartley, Leighton Phillips, Nigel Stevenson, John Toshack, Brian Attley (Jeremy Charles), Robbie James, Alan Curtis, Alan Waddle, Ian Callaghan.
Doesn’t that line up bring a tear to your origins ?

And again
Job done
Swansea City have always taken large supports to games in the south west, however the games at the Vetch and Liberty haven’t seen anything resembling the same. The welcome has never been that good for these sides, however that was the dark days of yore, these days we are all friends and share bags of chips together in perfect harmony.
Latest LIVE stream details The SwansTV Live cameras will be at Home Park to capture all the action from our first official friendly of the summer, and Swans fans from all around the world will be able to access the live stream. Plymouth Argyle v Swansea City : LIVE STREAM & AWAY FANS WELCOME on 20:58 - Jul 20 by guthrieintherain
How did we play then any stand out performances.
Benda made some decent saves. Really eager to get involved in play, first to everything inside his box except their goal which Bennett made a hash of.
Curtis was fawning over Liam Walsh because he played a couple of nice looking passes but he got tied in knots defensively and made two errors which led to chances for them. I'd be very worried if we started a competitive game with him and Smith partnering each other based on today.
Did we have a chance in the second half? One long shot and that was about it that I can remember.

How did we play then any stand out performances.
Standard Cooperball tripe with 20 mins of much better stuff in the first half which gave us the two goals. Then the usual half paced crap and Benda saving the win with a one on one. Nobody stood out at all. Good goal from Whittaker.

yeah what would Curtis know
By his own admission he'd seen only a few clips of him, and hasn't been in the building for the last 18 months to get all the usual insight. Struggled to tell the players apart in commentary. Even trotted out the "he always looks forward" cliche struggling for things to say.
Bang on in his criticisms of Cullen and other areas of our play but honestly neither commentator was at the races. The long pause when Curtis asked who the Plymouth manager was and someone had to quickly look it up. Saying Jephcott scored when he wasn't on the pitch (and is a good few stones heavier than the bloke who did). Preseason for commentators as well I suppose. Need some double research sessions to get the sharpness back.

Evidence for all to see this fella has to go one way or the other.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I liked the look of Walsh. Always looking for the ball and to make a positive or incisive pass. Hope he stays fit.
Early days and hopefully he'll get used to his new team mates but in all honesty was he any better than Byers? I have a feeling every new player will be expected to do exactly the same as the players we already have … do I want to risk my health turning up for another season of Cooperball?

In it, nobody can make a judgement on him after his cameo tonight, other than to say he looks promising and can only get better, fitness depending of course.

A couple of nice things but same old in many ways.
Yes, could be another boring watch this season if Cooper stays. Likely we will get some results but could turn nasty once crowds return
