The Swansea City transfers thread on 14:00 - Jan 31 with 3111 views | 34dfgdf54 | No chance would we have got rid of Mesa, one of our big signings in the summer on loan, pay a percentage of his wages, and replace with Andy King, and also pay his wages. It's obvious we are struggling though, players turning us down left right and centre, Schurrle deal supposedy being scuppered last second, all eggs in one basket for Ayew with no money left over, so we can only loan Markovic and not sign permanetely as Liverpool want. It's a big mess.

It's not a mess, it's all done 100% by design so the club doesn't spend any money and gets players off the wage bill. All they care about is profit. Now we've had a few good results the purse will be snapped shut.

I have a horrible feeling you could be right. Such a shame now that Carlos and the team are showing signs of delivering the goods. it will be a reckless gamble of the highest order. Our paper thin squad will have to work its ballocks off and stay injury free to have any chance.

The Swansea City transfers thread on 14:34 - Jan 31 with 2912 views | jedmo_jack | Why is the club so keen on spending 18m for a 28 year old A.Ayew but spending 15m on 23 year old Markovic is an absolute no no? Surprised they fancy A.Ayew much more as a player to be honest as he offers very little other than scoring from goal mouth scrambles. Markovic would have more resale value which the club seem to love and offers genuine pace and creativity over Ayew. Is there really that much more value in Andre just because he's a 'known quantity'? Not sure, but he could be a bloody effective player on his day so won't write him off completely.

If you think ayew only scores goal mouth scrambles you clearly didn’t see all many of his goals for us.

Markovic hasn't played all year. 15M is a lot to spend on a player who is not up to speed. there are only 13 games left, so it's a huge wager that the player will be able to quickly adapt. we've seen with bony how long it can take for a player with ability to get back into the swing of things.

King is just to cover Mesa leaving, probably needed. The club are trying here, being linked with everyone and if it wasn't for a Dortmund injury, we'd have Schurrle through the door, what a shame. However, if we let Markovic slip through the fingers just because we don't want to pay 15m I'll be very annoyed.

Doubt Markovic has the fitness issues Bony has, and just ridiculous that Bony with all his documented fitness issues was signed on deadline day instead of much earlier to get him up to speed. Take your point with Markovic but it didn't seem to affect him before at Hull

Yeah, but why let Mesa leave? We are weakening our squad yet again if this is true. I'm not convinced.

Begs the question over why he was signed in the first place. It's all the shoddy recruitment in the Summer being dealt with.

Fair enough but to jump from names mentioned to Andy King!?! We can only sign one more player from the domestic league, if King signs then it rules out loaning Markovic.
