Ever since my son was... never conceived, because I've never had consensual sex without money involved... I've always kind of looked at you as... a thing, that I could live next to... in accordance with state laws.
So all these posters taking the time to recommend films for the benefit of the op and not a word of thanks! So come on what did you end up watching then! .....
You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.
I hate horrors me. My Mrs went with a friend (I wouldn't go) and saw "Lights out" now she is normally pretty good at watching, but found herself checking the boot before driving home. Don't blame me if it is poor.
Just finished Kill List. Gonna go give my son a hug.

And for some reason I've just watched the mist (again and unwittingly). I'm off to hug my son again.

Sleep Tight, spanish with english subtitles not a gory horror but both gripping and disturbing, if you don't normally do subtitles this one is well worth it.
Anyone see that film on the Horror Channel the other night, Devil's Rejects?
I only mention it because the guy who plays Bert, the giant bearded geologist in Big Bang Theory had a bit part in it, playing a roadie who gets shot in the head about ten minutes in.
He had a Cheap Trick T shirt on, so probably deserved it.

Don't rate that film but love the bit at the end with freebird playing.
It looked like it was going to be sh!t, so I gave up after 20 minutes. They don't half show some crap on Horror Channel.
You'll get the odd random good one though.

the one that Rob Zombie directed? Very weird film, but, given who the director was - not surprised.
I bought The Shallows on DVD a week back it was watchable. What got me thinking about this one were the CGI effects. Some were a bit ropey and some absolutely superb and I thought about Jaws. I thought what an even more superb film it would have been with modern CGI along with additional modern animatronics that are light years ahead of what they had 40+ years ago.
Jaws was superb and the casting of Robert Shaw really stole the show. I also wonder if there would ever be a remake? They seem to remake a lot nowadays. But would it be impossible to recreate because of the sheer brilliance of Robert Shaw in that movie
That is a good one, but I was going to add 'Ghost Story' (1981)
And still the most frightening horror movie I've seen: 'Salem's Lot' (1979)
Not the remake of 2004, that was awful.
Read the Stephen king book. Then get in to the dark tower series which continues the story within the main narrative. Should see you right for the next six years.
